Where's Chris Jordan? I haven't heard any news on him

All I've read...
…is that he just moved to linebacker (where most people suspected he would end up) from where he had been working out at running back. This makes sense because (1) our stable of running backs looks solid, especially with the health of the upperclassmen and the quality work provided by Mark Ingram and even Ivan Matchett; (2) it’s no secret that, despite Saban’s praise for Harris and Hightower today, we are still looking for answers at linebacker; and (3) have you looked closely (or even briefly) at photos of this kid? He looks like a linebacker. The only incoming players whose photos impress me as much as Jordan are B.J. Scott and Terrence “don’t take this butt-whippin’ personally” Cody. I suspect that, had Jordan begun the summer at linebacker, we would all have heard much more news on him. He still may end up redshirting, but don’t hold your breath.

And just today...
…in the local paper, Nick Saban said (and I paraphrase) that Chris Jordan probably didn’t really know what he was doing (since he just switched to LB), but he did run to the ball and make the tackle. “I did notice that,” Saban said. Apparently, Coach wanted to see Jordan’s name in the paper, too.

yea...
i just read that today. thanks for the info. i guess with the lack of depth at LB, it was necessary. hopefully he turns out to be a stud and not a, dare i say, jimmy johns.

It hurts...
…to even type the name ‘Jimmy Johns’ at this point, but I have to say, from what we can see at this point, Chris Jordan seems to have too much intelligence and character to fall into that hole. Also, despite what I said earlier about Jordan playing LB, don’t totally give up on that kid running the ball, even this season. He can really run, and we have three returning RBs with histories of injury. We should also have at least one stud LB showing up in ‘09 to complement the stud LBs who showed up this year and last, so…who friggin’ knows. Bottom line: Jordan is too good to simply sit forever.

Jordan-Ingram...
…sounds great, and Coffee certainly has some things to prove. From what I’ve seen, though, Terry Grant is awesome if he is healthy. Who knows, we might just get to see that 1-2 punch before the season ends. Roll Tide, CSon.
