Hightower apparently in the mix
Great read on the linebacker position, especially the info on each spot's particular role in the defense and how they line up.

There does seem to be something more...
…than the usual Bama optimism going on here. I mean, when I first heard that Alfred McCullough was being moved to OL, I thought, “But he dominated at DL in the A-Day game.” Then, I got really excited, because I realized that you only move McCullough because Cody and Chapman are owning the DT spot, which moves Lorenzo to DE, which gives us enough quality depth at DL to move a beast like McCullough to OL, where we have a solid 1st unit but, until now, lacked depth. Follow?
And, back to Hightower, we seem to have quality depth at LB, too. Not the most experienced, but high-level talent. When Prince Hall comes off suspension, we actually have a fair amount of experience there, too, between him, Rolando, Fanney, and Reamer. Eryk Anders seems to be ready to play a larger role as well. And we know the freshmen are teh bombz.
I’m enjoying this part of…the process myself, bammer.

Not to mention...
Coach Saban does seem to be a bit more relaxed about this team and overall more positive than last year. I know he’s still being cautious, but compared to last year, he just seems a bit more happy with the progress that the team has made and the impact of some of the freshmen.
