Sounds like Tommy is already starting to make some excuses.

I will say this: for a team that is widely expected to win the ACC and get to a BCS game, Bowden has been extremely careful to hedge all of his bets with comments like these. I cannot help but think that Bowden is a bit worried about all of the high expectations and the negative backlash that will result if his Tigers, once again, fall short.

I just think there is too much

for Clemson to loose and too little for us to loose to make this a blowout. I honestly think this will either be a huge win in our favor or a lose game. I really, really think we win this. I think any of our defense shortcomings are offset with this inexperience, and I think the outcome lies in the difference (or lack thereof) that Mcelwain has made with Wilson and the offense.

I have a great feeling, something I haven’t had in three years.

it sounds like the fear bug done bit Bowden because I can tell you what I would say and have told my young inexperience lineman is reach down deep play with pride and a pissed off attitude and hit your opponent every play with all you got and that is all you can do.

if bowden had any testicular fortitude

he’d say something akin to “BAMA’s got a great D, they’re good at making schemes and sending blitz packages. But as a unit they’re not very tough. We’re going to put three hats on them and make them not want to get up” that’d light a fire under the greenhorns’ asses.
