Smart Football Breaks Down Bama/Clemson

Chris over at Smart Football has put together a glorious exegesis on the upcoming Bama/Clemson matchup for EDSBS. It's an incisive look at Saban's defense versus Spence's offense and a bit of what we should expect to see in terms of general strategy on Saturday.

No pick 'em here, just glorious analysis ranging from coaching pedigree, historical trends and all those geeky X's and O's which will make the next several days that much more agonizing.

Smart Football (and EDSBS)

Oh My GOD....

I think my head is going to explode from all the football knowledge I just got. Aaagggghhhh!!!! Anyway, on a side note, does Clemson’s OC not look like he just walked off the beach from throwing down some Corona’s is about to head to either a Parrot-Head concert or the local karoke bar? Party On Dude!

X's and O's

After reveiwing the clips I noticed that S.C gave them a good run despite having two blocked punts. As you know S.C wasn’t the best team in the SEC or even close. I can assure that our O.Line won’t get pushed around like the G-Cocks did, and their O.Line being young will be in for a treat from hell. The 3-4 D with speed is lethal when shifted in multple attack packages. I noticed also on D their middle will be exposed for T.End look in’s after the secondary drops back to the flats. I smell victory fellas!!! Victory!! G- Damit Roll Tide Roll!!!

Droppin science like galileo dropped the orange...

I can’t wait to watch Saban’s D in this game. I hope we can get better coverage from our corners this year. We gave up a couple of big plays last year because we got caught in man with our safeties committed elsewhere. Also, SC if I am not mistaken is/was built on speed and a little undersized. They were definitely being pushed around in that clip…

SMQ... er, Dr. Saturday has his say

and his point seems to be that if clemson has any hope of meeting the hype they have to make a statement in this game. particularly since, on paper, they are so much stronger across the board than Bama.
