"What our players need to understand, what our fans need to understand, what everybody needs to understand, it's one game," said Saban. "And we need to keep playing better and we need to improve and our players need to have the focus to improve and remember how they got where they got rather than think we can just show up now and beat whoever we play. Because we have a tendency to think that way around here instead of kicking people's --- like we're supposed to."
- Nick Saban. Now we find out if we can handle success as well as adversity.

Coach Saban was dead on with this statement… For our team to continue to beat the teams it needs to beat and beat the teams it maybe shouldn’t beat we have to play like we did saturday night if not better…..as fans we cant expect a win or expect our players to be the greatest players every game…(ie julio jones) we have to let Saban run this thing like he know how to do….Then we will really start to win some ball games…..It’s good that we got this win and to celabrate it but in reality we havent won anything…..Well with that roll tide

this is what drive me insane
Just about every Bama fan I know agrees with this point 100 percent but the general perception of our feelings over this win seems to be that we now believe we’ll be vying for the SEC championship or MNC or some such nonsense.
I think Todd mentioned this last week – it’s absolutely amazing how much fans of opposing teams profess to know about our sentiments. And, as you might expect, it is almost always pejorative in one aspect or another. Take this random example. In his wrap-up column for Fox Sports, Don Borst made this observation in his “what did Saturday teach us” section:
That Alabama fans are going to think the future has already arrived after the impressive 34-10 rout of No. 9 Clemson.
Needless to say, nowhere on this site has anyone made such a statement nor have I heard it from any fan of the team I am in contact with. This is a great win we are all savoring for a variety of reasons but not to the point we’ve lost our perspective on the outlook for the team. Pretty much the general consensus before the season was that this is an 8 or 9-win season and we are a year away from “”http://www.philsteele.com/" target="new">from legitimately contending for the SEC west title." In the wake of this win I’ve yet to hear anyone change that assessment.
The fact is we all remember all too well the delicious win over Tennessee last year and the less-palatable aftermath at ULM. We need to focus on the lack of discipline and focus that allowed such things to happen not the next blowout win. If we take care of the former, the latter will follow. If we do not, I can promise you, it won’t.
