Pollspeak - Breaking down the college football polls
Scurrying about the vast glory of SB Nation earlier today I stumbled across an interesting post over at the Arizona State bloggers House of Sparky. The post was taking umbrage at the ranking – or rather, the lack of ranking – by an AP pollster.
I know, the meh over this simply fills your being. But what was interesting was the resource they used to single out the voter – a service called Pollspeak.
Pollspeak turns out be a website that breaks down college sports polls in an attempt to hold them accountable. As they put it:
Pollspeak is a watchdog organization dedicated to keeping college sports polls (and computer-rankings) honest, or at least questioning those that seem to be flawed, uneducated or have an unreasonable bias. Why? Because polls affect teams' TV exposure, finances, recruiting and national championship hopes.
What we get out of it are easy to use breakdowns of every AP and BCS poll by just about every way you can think of. I’m still figuring out the ins and outs of how it works but I've learned this much – it’s more than a little bit addictive. Be sure to check out their blog for interesting articles about issues affecting various polls and interesting whatnot.
FanPosts are just that; posts created by the fans. They are in no way indicative of the opinions of SBN and the authors of Roll Bama Roll.
