Tennessee
is bad. Very, very bad. UAB should be tied with them right now. That is how bad this team is. We SHOULD kill them next month…
Roll Tide, Bitches!!!
Tulane v. East Carolina
Tulane is playing East Carolina pretty tough early on. It’s 0-0 late in the first quarter, and Tulane has forced two three-and-outs for ECU.
We’ll see how this thing plays out.
by outsidethesidelines on Sep 13, 2008 2:35 PM CDT reply actions
Things are starting...
A bunch of snoozer games early on, but now things are starting to pick up as South Carolina and Georgia just got underway.
And it begins with SoCar losing five yards on a screen pass. And make that loses two more on a screen play on second down.
Fun and Gun, eh?
by outsidethesidelines on Sep 13, 2008 2:37 PM CDT reply actions
And it gets better
On third down, the linebacker drops an interception. So for SoCar it goes:
(1) Loses five on a screen
(2) Loses two on a screen
(3) Linebacker drops interception
And Moreno will return the punt 28 yards to midfield.

Tulane...
The Green Wave is playing tough again, but special teams continue to kill them. They just had a field goal blocked, and it’s still 0-0.
by outsidethesidelines on Sep 13, 2008 2:50 PM CDT reply actions
Apparently...
Apparently the blocked field goal was returned for a touchdown. 7-0 ECU.

Stephen Garcia...
Stephen Garcia is now in the game after Smelley just got hammered.
No word yet on whether or not he’s sober.

Notre Dame just scored again!
Make that 14-0 ND.

Tripp Chandler...
Perhaps I just see him at all of the wrong times, but does anyone drop more passes than Tripp Chandler?

Illinois...
I don’t know if you guys saw it or not, but Illinois narrowly survived disaster earlier today against ULL, winning 20-17.
As if the Big Ten needed any more OOC strugles…

Tulane dominating, but losing...
The Green Wave is looking stout, despite trailing 7-0.
They’ve actually dominated the game. They lead in total yardage 120 to 28, and ECU has only one first down. Unfortunately, Tulane had a blocked field goal returned for a touchdown, and just got stuffed on three straight plays from the ECU one, thus turning it over on downs.
They should be winning this game 10-0.
by outsidethesidelines on Sep 13, 2008 3:15 PM CDT reply actions
Tied up...
Tulane just got a fumble from ECU and punched it in, so it’s a 7-7 game now with 59 seconds left in the first half.
Again, Tulane has dominated this game thus far. East Carolina only has two first downs and two completed passes; they’ve got only 36 yards of total offense on 19 plays. In all honesty, Tulane should be up 17-0 in this game.
But special teams screws them over again, as the kick-off goes out of bounds, giving ECU great field position.
by outsidethesidelines on Sep 13, 2008 3:23 PM CDT up reply actions
SoCar v. UGA...
… has been very ugly on both sides so far, and UGA has completely dominated the SC offense, but the Gamecocks just hit it big with a pass play, and suddenly they lead 7-3.
I will say this: As much as UGA people have talked national title, this sure as hell doesn’t look like a NC team.

RBR's KING of HIP-HOP...
UGA looks sloppy...
but I have a question…would you rather them beat SC so we can go between the edges in two weeks and possibly pull off the upset? or see them lose today, just to throw a monkey wrench in everything?
RBR's KING of HIP-HOP...
Tulane & ECU tied...
14-14… this would be a big one.
Tulane still dominating total yardage and time of possession.
Say what you will, I know we looked like shit last week, but this Tulane team is clearly much better than anyone anticipated.
by outsidethesidelines on Sep 13, 2008 4:10 PM CDT reply actions
CLEARLY...
which makes our win over them look that much better…

Huge play...
Tulane just recovered an ECU fumble at the ECU 36; it came on a sack, they are really getting after the QB.
It’s 24-21 with 6 minutes to go.
And no I’m not watching, following ESPN Gamecast.

pissed away a golden opportunity, going three and out and having to punt.
First and ten ECU from their twenty.

Tulane gets intercepted and it’s over. ECU will win it 28-24.
Either way, though they lost, again, it is very clear that Tulane is much better than anyone expected.
by outsidethesidelines on Sep 13, 2008 5:17 PM CDT reply actions
BYU...
BYU: 59
UCLA: 0
And that is without BYU just missing a field goal. This easily has to be one of the worst losses in the history of UCLA football.
by outsidethesidelines on Sep 13, 2008 5:18 PM CDT reply actions
Speaking of Oregon
Their kicker just kicked the kickoff half way through the endzone. Why can’t Bama get a kicker that can do that? Heck, if UAB can get a kicker who can do it, why can’t we?
Charlie goes down...
with a torn ACL and MCL? Did I hear that correctly? Ouch!
I really thought Michigan’s defense was going to old the Irish to fewer points than that…
