Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Saban and Richt toying with each other?

Reading up on the Georgia/Bama matchup this weekend and I read the following article.

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=ap-blackingoutthetide&prov=ap&type=lgns

Which contained the following quote:

"So, why was he wearing red for his Tuesday news conference?

“This was the only shirt I had in my closet today when I got up,” Richt said with a smile, making it clear he’ll have on black come Saturday."

Sounds a little familiar, yes? Of course it does, Saban said the same thing a day before

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=ap-t25-bama-forreal&prov=ap&type=lgns

"So was his decision to wear a black polo shirt to his Monday news conference a statement?

“It’s the only shirt I could find when I got up this morning,” Saban said with a grin."

Nice, the coaches are getting into this one. I hope the game lives up tothe hype it's receiving.

I love this kind of stuff

I was at the Georgia-Auburn blackout game last year and I have never seen Sanford Stadium in that much of a frenzy in more than 20 years of going to football games there.

At the start of the season, I thought the Bulldogs would break out the black jerseys for Tennessee after two straight embarrassing losses to the Volunteers, because that looked like the biggest home game on the schedule.

Naturally, Alabama’s resurgence—-which was expected under Nick Saban, but I don’t think many people thought it would be this soon—-changed the math, so it was entirely appropriate that the clash of top ten teams between the hedges be treated like the special game that it is by making it the blackout game instead.

Kudos to Coach Saban on the motivational ploy he broke out during the press conference, and kudos to Mark Richt for responding in kind. These are two relentlessly intense coaches and it’s good to see them having a laugh while attempting to gain the upper hand psychologically in what promises to be an S.E.C. classic.

We’ll see y’all on Saturday. I’m looking forward to a great game, a great atmosphere, and a preview of the S.E.C. championship game.

This is a fun

rivalry between us and georgia. Both schools have a great tradition, but have no reason to hate eachother. Im not going to lie, they are my closet team

Yep...

Georgia is definitely my #2 SEC team. I was born in Columbus, Ga, so the Barn and UGA are a little closer than T-Town. Thank god I was born crimson into a legacy family. I’m headed to Athens this weekend even though I don’t have a ticket. I think I’m going to follow the Tide around for the rest of the season since I quit my job and just finished packing up my office. Eventually I’m moving to Florida.

Oh yeah, I know...

Half of my father’s side of the family went to the Barn. Did you know any of the Gunters? Cousins of mine, half of them Bammers and half of them Barners and 1 went to both. lol
