3-year-old: “Dad, what are those guys doing?”

Me: “I don’t know, son…I’ve never seen this before.”

3-year-old: (after brief pause) “Can we turn their music off?”

Me: “You don’t like their music?”

3-year-old: “I don’t.”

Mine this week will be………..well, when I was younger, I lived out in the sticks. And we just had an antenna to pick up ABC, CBS, and NBC. Couldn’t really even pick up Fox well. And since I lived out in the sticks, there was much to do during summer vacation in the morning when everybody left but watch TV and avoid all the chores my father had me doing. So, limited as I was, I watched a lot of Magnum PI. Which is fine, but what came on right after that was the Golden Girls. Man, I’ve seen like every episode twice, even the one with Quentin Tarantino.

To compensate, I also had a ton of VHS recordings of Alabama football games that I’d watch. I must have seen the 92 SEC Championship game 50+ times.

Ok guys, I haven’t done this before, but I feel that I have to let out something that only my friends know, it is one of the biggest embarrasing situations ever, and I’m doing it for the Crimson Tide, please accept this sacrifice, football gods….

I was at the Hard Rock for Sister Hazel (traded kid rock tix for it), which I thouroughly enjoyed btw, when I noticed this tall thin beauty with long flowing black hair and lucious lips that I couldn’t resist hitting on. I proceeded to the bar to buy her a glass of wine and the closer I got the better she looked, man she had some nice, long, toned legs, full C cups, handfulls of trunk…and and Adam’s apple, DAMN!!

both parachute pants and white pants that, although I never bought a white coat, I purchased because they looked like the ones Don Johnson wore on Miami Vice. There is a gap in the family photo album. I have seen to it. Now lets beat Georgia.

I am a romantic comedy nerd…I watch ’em, I enjoy ’em and I usually choose them over most other genres at the movie store (except zombie films…my favorite)…
The Lake House, Love Actually, Prime, Something New, etc…yep, seen ’em all…and loved ’em all…

When I was a kid, my friends used to tell me cool stories of concerts they went to, like Prince coming down from the ceiling to the stage in a bed, or Van Halen with dozens of young women tearing off their shirts and throwing their bras onstage. Well, my first concert was…Chicago. And I don’t mean 70’s Chicago, singing Saturday in the Park and smoking grass. I mean 80’s Chicago, with whiny-ass Peter Cetera singing Hard for me to say I’m Sorry. I went with one of my friends…and his dad. And I’m pretty certain my jeans were cuffed. So there you go.

…and no pleats (sorry, boys), but I think they were that bleached/pre-faded kind that made your jeans look baby blue. And the tight roll. All the way, baby.

is one of my favorite movies. I’ve seen it more than the godfather.
