Todd's Week Five Friday Embarassing Admission...

...or, Todd Attempts to Curry Favor With the Football Gods by Admitting his Moral, Cultural, and Intellectual Flaws in a Very Public Manner.

Since girly admissions got us dominating performances against Clemson, WKU and Arkansas, we'll mine that well one more time for Georgia. A few years back I was madly obsessed with a little show called The OC. Now that ought to be embarassing enough, but I'm going to go a few steps further with this one. I liked the show so much that I actually had this as my cell phone ringtone:

Is that embarassing enough? Not for UGA it isn't. Going another step further, I had to have knee surgery around this time and found myself in my doctors office, stripped down to my boxer shorts, and trying my best to ignore the two attractive nurses in the room. So there I am, skinny, pale chicken legs swinging from the examination table, when my phone goes off and the whole room is filled with "CAAAAALLLLIFFFOOOORRRNNIIIAAAAAAAAA." The nurses did an admirable job of not outright laughing at me, but they were both red in the face from the effort and could tell how embarassed I was, making it even more humorous for them. Not one of my manliest moments, but if sharing it here will get us a win tomorrow night, it will have all been worth it. Ridicule away or, better yet, share your own in the comments.

Actual conversation...

…that just happened between me and my three-year-old while viewing this:

3-year-old: “Dad, what are those guys doing?”

Me: “I don’t know, son…I’ve never seen this before.”

3-year-old: (after brief pause) “Can we turn their music off?”

Me: “You don’t like their music?”

3-year-old: “I don’t.”

I had to dig deep for this one

I use to be goth kid. Dressed in black all the time, pierced both my ears, and wore glasses though i have perfect vision. I also listened to catch this…..christian death metal….http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9Pu9anBBIE

hangs his head in shame…..

Don't take life to seriously, you'll never get out alive.

Just to clarify

The key word in that first sentence is USE to be…..i was in middle school….

sweet. me too.

Then, I realized that the practice of law while featuring humorless people and figurative bloodsuckers in dark clothing probably wasn’t the appropriate outlet. Thus, the Swans and NewlyDeads are reserved for laundry days and the ghastly 50 minute one way commute I make :)

I used

the same OC confession in a previous week. Also, don’t knock the Phantom Planet, that band is allright, regardless of their association with the OC.

Mine this week will be………..well, when I was younger, I lived out in the sticks. And we just had an antenna to pick up ABC, CBS, and NBC. Couldn’t really even pick up Fox well. And since I lived out in the sticks, there was much to do during summer vacation in the morning when everybody left but watch TV and avoid all the chores my father had me doing. So, limited as I was, I watched a lot of Magnum PI. Which is fine, but what came on right after that was the Golden Girls. Man, I’ve seen like every episode twice, even the one with Quentin Tarantino.

To compensate, I also had a ton of VHS recordings of Alabama football games that I’d watch. I must have seen the 92 SEC Championship game 50+ times.

to piggy back your phantom planet thoughts

i was going to say that this song was not nearly as gay until is was adopted by this show. however, since todd got it as a ringtone knowing full well its gayness, it is indeed an embarrassing addmission. not to mention the whole dr’s office thing.

man that’s gay…i can only hope the football god’s take pity on your/our souls.

My first embarrasing admission

Ok guys, I haven’t done this before, but I feel that I have to let out something that only my friends know, it is one of the biggest embarrasing situations ever, and I’m doing it for the Crimson Tide, please accept this sacrifice, football gods….
I was once dumped by a girlfriend for another girl…… Yes I turned her Lesbo……. Ok I’m that guy.

Hangs head and cries

Been there, man

Got dumped by my first love (her dad was/is an econ professor at Alabama). She left me for her best friend, who was hella’ hot. I recovered by dating two of her three sisters!

I've been saving this for UGA...

I love Katy Perry. Her music, anyway. Anytime her songs are on my XM, I’ll crank the volume and start singing along. I even changed one of my favorites to the only station I could find that consistently plays Ur So Gay and Hot ’n Cold.

I live in Biloxi..

where casinos and women are plentiful. I was at the Hard Rock for Sister Hazel (traded kid rock tix for it), which I thouroughly enjoyed btw, when I noticed this tall thin beauty with long flowing black hair and lucious lips that I couldn’t resist hitting on. I proceeded to the bar to buy her a glass of wine and the closer I got the better she looked, man she had some nice, long, toned legs, full C cups, handfulls of trunk…and and Adam’s apple, DAMN!!

In seventh grade I owned

both parachute pants and white pants that, although I never bought a white coat, I purchased because they looked like the ones Don Johnson wore on Miami Vice. There is a gap in the family photo album. I have seen to it. Now lets beat Georgia.

If it were up to me, I'd blitz on offense too.

I have to admit, after kriss kross made their amazing debut on “In Living Color” EVERYONE was into them. It probably wasn’t more than 7 days later til i owned a pair of Cross Colors overalls and a red, black, green and yellow Malcom X hat……My grandma bought me the Malcom X hat at the mall when i was visiting her over the summer in Memphis, you couldn’t find gear that fresh in the east valley back in the day.

This is just for you...

…crazy kids. Here’s my Georgia admission:

When I was a kid, my friends used to tell me cool stories of concerts they went to, like Prince coming down from the ceiling to the stage in a bed, or Van Halen with dozens of young women tearing off their shirts and throwing their bras onstage. Well, my first concert was…Chicago. And I don’t mean 70’s Chicago, singing Saturday in the Park and smoking grass. I mean 80’s Chicago, with whiny-ass Peter Cetera singing Hard for me to say I’m Sorry. I went with one of my friends…and his dad. And I’m pretty certain my jeans were cuffed. So there you go.

by NiceLittleSaturday on Sep 26, 2008 1:26 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

I bet it had pleats, too…

by SpockJenkins on Sep 26, 2008 1:34 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Not stone washed...

…and no pleats (sorry, boys), but I think they were that bleached/pre-faded kind that made your jeans look baby blue. And the tight roll. All the way, baby.

here we go!

well i have already given my confessions for this week but i think this game deserves a little extra ! so last week the music theme got us a blowout win so lets stick with that , i am sad to admit that i am guilty of listening to (and singing along with ) taylor swift (cuts him self)! oh great football Gods please receive my offering!!!!

by cmyster94 on Sep 26, 2008 1:57 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

I listen to Taylor Swift

As much as I’m ashamed to admit it, part of me isn’t. Her CD is probably in the CD player in my truck right now. I’ll often times find myself singing her music at random times during the day. I actually started singing out loud at work one day. Thank God no one heard me. When I go home my younger sister finds it highly embarrassing when we go down the road and I sing her music at the top of my lungs.

If that doesn’t get a win, nothing will.

by SpockJenkins on Sep 26, 2008 2:55 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

That's the best you can do??

Taylor Swift is at least popular and won awards and I could at least pawn it off on being my wifes’. But here it goes…….. only for you BAMA do I make this admission.

I have Natalie Merchant & Bonnie Rait in my CD player right now & the real kicker is that I bought them 10 years ago and still have them(sobs uncontrollably).

So there it is oh great merciful football gods, please shine favorably on our great team on Saturday.
