Why did you post the same thing three times?

Well...
First off, any time you see someone post the same thing multiple times, it is usually due to the 75-word requirement for the fanposts.
As for Steele, I can see it making sense. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but it would make sense to me. Steele has done a fine job for us, but don’t forget that at the end of the day it is ultimately Saban’s defense, and he is the one who is really in charge. On the other hand, if Steele goes to Clemson he can actually have full control of the defense and do whatever he wants without being under Saban’s guiding hand. Furthermore, Clemson isn’t exactly shabby, they’ve got a lot of talent on the defensive side of the ball, so it is an attractive opening, especially considering Dabo’s offensive background and the fact that the DC will have complete and total autonomy when it comes to defense.
Again, I don’t know if it’s true, but it could be a pretty good move for Steele. And if he does go, we’ll be just fine without him. Saban will bring in another very good linebackers coach / DC, and ultimately it will still be him calling the shots.

I agree OTL
though I figured Steele would hold out one more season and get a HC job. This just seemed more of a lateral move, title wise. I do hate to see him go, but like you said this is Saban’s defense and Kirby has as much control as Steele imo. As many people have said we will have assistant turnover as the program continues its success. BTW, again this is all based on BOL and still possible Dabo chooses someone else.

I think...
I figured Steele would hold out one more season and get a HC job.
Well, I think that is largely the problem. Though Steele is doing very well at Alabama, I’m not sure it’s really helping him towards his ultimate goal of getting another head coaching job. I mean yes we are very strong defensively, and Steele certainly plays a part in that, but no one will ever look at the Alabama defense and say, “Wow, those guys are playing great, Steele is really doing an incredible job down there.” No, they are going to look at it and give Saban almost all of the credit and say that Steele is just going with the flow and not being an impediment to progress.
I think the Clemson move gives him a better chance at a head coaching job. It’s not an upgrade in terms of title, because he’ll be DC at both schools, but with that said in terms of responsibilities and control it’s a massive upgrade. He’ll go from being the DC-in-name-only at Alabama to having complete and total autonomy at Clemson. Again, it’s not an upgrade in terms of titles, but it’s a huge upgrade in terms of responsibilities and control, thus it really makes a good bit of sense when viewed from that perspective.
And finally, though it’s just a BOL report right now and we all know those guys have gotten burned a couple of times in the past by trying to be the first to break a story, this one doesn’t seem to be generating any backlash. For the most part, this one really isn’t surprising anyone, nor is it controversial, so I imagine it’s probably true. I’m sure, though, that Clemson / Alabama will wait until after the Sugar Bowl to make an official announcement.

Best of Luck
He’s a good coach, and winning schools that “graduate” their coaches to better jobs tend to attract good coaches to replace them. Nick Saban certainly does that. ie Will Muschamp And I do think it is a better job for the reasons OTS outlined above. Alabama will just reload at the coaching position.
