I...
…hadn’t heard this before, so thank you for posting the sad news of Ron Asheton’s death. I saw Iggy at City Stages several years back, which was no fun enough in itself, but I always wished I could have seen the Stooges when they were just getting started. That first album is golden, and I’ll never forget what an old friend of mine used to say every time I got in his car (which always had the Stooges waiting for me in the cassette deck): “A day without Iggy is a day without sunshine.” It’s pretty overcast today…I think I’ll go put on one of my Stooges LPs and listen to Iggy’s voice and Asheton’s guitar to brighten things up a little.

I just...
…grabbed some of my old albums from my attic. I found Rubber Legs by The Stooges (which I’m listening to now), plus…
Prince – Dirty Mind
Black Sabbath – Paranoid
Siouxsie and the Banshees – Once Upon A Time/The Singles
Queen – The Game
Ramones – Too Tough To Die & Rocket To Russia
Lou Reed – Sally Can’t Dance
The Replacements – Sorry Ma, Forgot To Take Out The Trash
Jane’s Addiction – Nothing’s Shocking
The Rolling Stones – Some Girls
Iggy Pop – Lust For Life
Talking Heads – More Songs About Buildings And Food
The B52’s – Wild Planet
ZZ Top – Tres Hombres
ACDC – Highway To Hell
The Cult – Sonic Temple
Generation X – Generation X
Obviously, I will spend the next several days giving them the love they have been deprived of lately.
Iggy is now singing “Johanna”. Enjoy your weekend.

Stooges Forever
The Stooges, Funhouse and Raw Power are easily three of the most influential albums of all time. I was lucky enough to catch them at Beale St. Festival a couple of years back. Invited half the crowd on stage for the encore and still brought the heat! Total bummer.
