Now that college football is over...

Gump4heisman had a great blib about true college fans and their apathy towards NFL football (I think it was his Top 10 things to look forward to etc etc).  I was raised in south alabama (the wiregrass side) and he nailed the general sentiment throughout much of the state.  Yea, there's the Braves, the Saints, the Falcons, the Hawks, and maybe the Titans...but seriously no one gives a damn (as far as professional sports are concerned, football or otherwise).  The truth is most people are following their favorite college players and hoping they do well on their respective teams.  I remember being a huge KC Chiefs fan just because of D.T.  However, is anybody else really diggin' NFL.com's highlight reels?  D. Sanders and the other guy (any other time I'd remember his name, but it's hopeless right now) - it's a good watch.  They show a ton of plays, the vibe is loose but thoughtful.  Overall, I'm always pleased, especially during playoff time.  Just a thought.  It's the last glimmer of good football before the recruiting/down time/rumor mill/blah blah blah stuff takes over in the collegiate world.

p.s. - great year for the tide, i'd love nothing more than to bring home a national championship, and i hope saban will do it soon

p.s.s (whatever that means) - of all the stuff on the friday random ten, a few to throw out there - tom waits, chris whitley, jason isbell or DBT, the black crowes are still kickin' it, marc ford's solo record was great, josh ritter, and the comedian todd barry.  Killer stuff.  This is a great blog.  And I don't say that lightly.  RBR represents the University of Alabama Crimson Tide well.  Keep up the good work.  But seriously, NFL.com highlight reels - good stuff.

grace and peace...
