Can we move on now?

Ok now that Oklahoma State and Texas Tech have lost can we get over the Big 12 being the "best" division of football this year? Let's just call it what it is Texas and Oklahoma are great this year and the rest are good but have not measured up during the bowls.

Also since no one seems to remember or care or both, can someone tell me how to pull for Florida against the Sooners? I just can not get past the Florida guy KICKING OUR PLAYER IN THE HEAD ON THE GROUND at the end of the game. Watching Tebow running around on the sideline like a circus monkey with palsy was bad enough but NO ONE seemed to call out the kick to the head at the end of the game. I really want the SEC to win bowl games but I'm struggling with this one.

You can't hold a grudge against the entire team...

because one douche bag kicked a player. There are plenty of douche bags on Florida’s team and many others, but they are representing the SEC and for them to win big would make the Alabama team look even better this year.

Florida is the only team to beat us this season. If they lose to Oklahoma, our stock drops. If they beat Oklahoma, especially if they do so in a particularly impressive fashion, makes us look pretty damn good. It’s not that complicated.

Especially when you consider a few things. First: it was one player, in one play, in one game. Was it dirty? Of course it was. Do I hope that kid endures some horrible karmic fate? Absolutely. Was the whole team involved? No. So cheering against Florida on the basis of that one play is really cutting off one’s nose to spite one’s face.

Second: what’s done is done. What do we gain from this kid not getting a championship ring? Not a thing.

Because if you root against your conference mates during bowl season....

it means one of two things:

1) you are a jackass
2) you are a UGA fan

I am sure the kick was just a heat-of-the-moment idiotic response to something. It doesn’t mean the kid is an overall dirty player or that he should be killed in a firery car crash. I am sure good players on all teams lose their cool occasionally. Also, the TV announcer called him out for it and even suggested that it could result in a one game suspension – being the BCS Championship.

As for Tebow’s jumping in celebration – you should be thankful that beating Alabama is once again such a big deal that our players celebrate like children. Would you rather he just walk away and say “so we beat Alabama…..no big deal?”

It’s nice to see the conference do well in bowl games, but to say that if you don’t root for the sec in every game you’re a jackass is idiotic. I respect Tebow’s accomplishments both on and off the field, but he is a horrible winner bordering on unsportsmanlike.

In all honesty

the competitor in me would have been doing the same thing if i was about to win a big game like that… i wish it was a bama fan doing it, but i cant hate on the guy for it.
Also, you gotta root for Florida, if only because of the class that (at least) most of their fans showed after the SECCG.
