Foley lineman D.J. Fluker, Andalusia linebacker Nico Johnson and Pensacola, Fla., running back Trent Richardson -- all verbal pledges to Alabama's expected 2009 signing class -- have been named to Parade Magazine's All-America High School Football Team.
Richardson was rated as the nation's No. 1 running back.

thats great
we are looking like we will have the #1 recruiting team in the nation again this year!! especially if we can get Dre at corner!!! teams lit us up with the passing when we played a good team that could throw! and with Lsu finding a QB and with ole miss and snead we definitely need a corner to go with our incredible DL and LB core!!!
The same things win that always won, and we just have a bunch of new excuses as to why we didnt achieve it!!! RDT
If these three...
…Kirkpatrick, and Randle come to UA, we will have the best players at each of these positions (IMO).
Now if only we could commit the #1 pass-rushing DE….

recruiting
Recruiting has been very quiet as of late. I haven’t heard anything from the visits taken the past few weeks. Does anyone have or “heard” any updates?
Just the usual...
….“I really liked it, I’ll announce on signing/am still committed/blah blah blah blah”
We may...
… hear something on Brandon Moore tomorrow, but at the latest we should by sometime next week.
Truth be told, we’re looking at a ton of guys who are going to either announce on NSD, or very near NSD, and that’s why we’ve had a bit of a quiet period.

One more guy...
… to keep your eye on is Eddie Lacy. He’s a tailback out of Geismar, LA, just right outside of Baton Rouge, and he’s easily one of the best in the country. No one doubts his talent, but his academics have been a big question mark, and most didn’t think he would qualify.
However, he’s apparently made some strides in that area. He’s close enough to where he could possibly make it now that the staff may take a chance on him, and if it doesn’t work out then he’ll just be a sign-and-place, no big deal. Even if he fails to qualify you really aren’t hurting because Richardson is still on board — and you get first dibs on him, most likely, coming out of Hargrave or JUCO — or he somehow makes it and then it’s just all gravy.
I figure the smart money is on us finding a spot for him in this class.
