All-Star Games
This may have been discussed here as I am fairly new here. But wouldn't it be great to have a SEC vs. The Big 12 in an All-Star game? I say the big 12 because they decide thier champion on the field as does the SEC. I leave out the Big East, The ACC, Conf. USA because of the caliber of football that is being played there right now. They could play it in The Georgia Dome and I promise you they wouldn't have a problem selling tickets to it. They could split the ticket sells and have it the Saturday before Signing Day. And let the coaches with the worst record in each League coach the game. Think of the recruits that would be at the game or watching and this would let the coaches with the first picks in the draft to get a closeup of the player that they will probably draft.

I had
A huge discussion about this over New Year’s weekend watching football with friends. I don’t think anyone would agree to the above, but what about All Star games during the bowl games, over Christmas break, that was all star teams from the teams in each conference that didn’t make a bowl game. You’d have Eric Berry from Tennessee, one of the Dicks at QB from Arkansas, etc. vs. an all star squad from another conference. And it would rotate each year. And you could invite the non BCS conferences too, as an All Star Sunbelt team should be decent as the vast majority of the teams don’t make bowl games, unlike the SEC where most do. I’d watch each and every one of these games.
A few years ago...
… we had that game. The good ’ol Blue-Gray Classic. Happened every Christmas day, if you remember. I do miss that game. Canceled for lack of sponsorship. Ah well.
That was great
and kind of like what I was talking about, but still would be a series of conference on conference matchups like Fatback talks about above, instead of an all star game in general.

Case in point
Read the synopsis of the final game on the website. Other than Derrick Ward, anyone ever hear of any of those players??
Also, there wouldn’t be enough players if you limited it to 2 conferences during bowl season. That would mean an “all-star” game consisting of the best players from the worst teams. Yuck.
