Story of my run-in with a bandwagon fan...
So me and the wife were at Lowe's earlier tonight. We are looking for paint and stuff for the third bedroom in our new home which we will turn into a Bama Game Room. So we find this really cool area rug that has the Bama Logo front and center and we were discussing how good it would look with painted crimson and grey walls. So this older lady - somewhere in her 50s - after listening and watching our conversation for a few minutes, looks at us and says "who would want something like that after last night? We were at the game and it was terrible. How can I pull for those boys?" I just look at her and shake my head, tell her I am a fan til the end, and that I will love this team no matter what. She walks off to the other isle and Shea, who could careless about bama and football, yells at her "You should be a true fan regardless of win or lose!" The lady gets mad and walks off. I laugh, and realize I love my wife tremendously LOL.
That is a shame, that people are so quick to disregard this team after one loss. Yes, we are all upset about it, but if you ain't in it through the thick and thin don't jump on the bandwagon when it's convenient...
FanPosts are just that; posts created by the readers of this site. They are in no way indicicative of the opinions of SBN and the authors of Roll Bama Roll.

Yeah i came across somone like that at the home depot today…not as bad as your experience but i was told i should be ashamed to wear bama gear in public…i actually didn’t think twice about throwing my bama hat on as i headed out the door..
When you are an Alabama fan you are expected to hate Auburn, I hate Tennessee because I want to.

By the way
I was at the game and pulled for Bama the entire game until the last gun and I can’t wait to play Va Tech. Nothing has changed, we are still Alabama.
And, I was sitting next to the mother of one of our players at the game and she was yelling for Bama the entire game even though her son, who was dressed, did not see the field. I can promsie she still her Bama stuff on today too.
Oh yeah, today I wore my Bama hat everywhere and at Chick-Fil-A in Daphne most everyone had Bama stuff on.

Yep...
I was at the game and pulled for Bama the entire game until the last gun…
Exactly. We sat in our seats until the clock read 0:00
Sure, it’s fun to stay until the end when we’re slamming Clemson or Auburn or Tennessee or Georgia, but I feel like if the players have to stay there ‘til the end, I want them to know there’s at least one crimson-clad fan that’ll be there ’til the end even in defeat.

We stayed til the end...
…and even through the trophy presentation. That was hard, but weirdly enough, even though I was extremely sad for us, I was happy for them. They deserved it all and we did not. I was much more upset after the Florida game because we were close to winning that game. The truth is we were NEVER close to winning this game. We COULD have won if we had played like the team that showed up most of the season. That team did not show up in New Orleans and EVERYONE is to blame from the top on down. If it takes the whole team to win, it takes the whole team to lose. There were some BAD BAMA fans at this game in our section that left before the end and that disgusted me. That was NOT an option ever considered in my group.

We were just on the couch...
And those final minutes we really didn’t WANT to see, but you just feel like you need to see every minute—for them! Now, as soon as there was mention of the trophy presentation, we flipped it over to Letterman! No way we were even going to watch the local news.
As far as wearing Bama gear, I am in a Bama sweatshirt under a Bama blanket right now! Roll Tide!

I'm with you tempe
I’ve been reading here at rbr, but just needed a couple of days before I could read what the talking heads were saying. But, this season is over. Now we get to start licking our chops over the new recruits!! We have our copy of Mr. Giddy’s countdown to kickoff.

Agreed
Here’s two Utah fans looking forward to pulling for ‘Bama next year simply because the fans were so classy. I’m shopping for Bama wear.
Cheers mates—except between y’all and Utah, I gotta bleed Ute.

Stayed to the end
After the final score was official, my father and I walked down to the end of our section (301) and yelled Roll Tide at the players as they headed off of the field.
I was very upset to see all of the fans leaving with 4 minutes left. These are 18, 19 year old kids who deserve our support to the very end of the game. I can’t even imagine how much that must hurt these yound men to see everyone abandon and give up on them after everything they’ve done for us.
I’ve gotta give major props to Utes player #10 (Stevenson I think) who remained at the Bama 10 yard line and shook every players hand as they left the field.

10 is Stevenson. He's been a great player for us since he was a freshman.
Luckily he’s only a Junior, but he’ll be missed. He was the one talking trash with your center at the coin flip. He’s like 6’2" 225 but he wouldn’t back down, even though your center has to have 120 lbs and 4 or 5 inches on him. All grit.
Plus he has a cool name. Stevenson Sylvester.

Having weathered some major heartbreak over the years,
I’ve never turned my back on the Tide. Alabama Football is a cornerstone of my childhood and will be so for my children as well. I’d like to think that being an Alabama fan even through all the turmoil of the past two decades shows those turncoat Barners what loyalty really is.
Roll Tide Roll. Here’s to 2009 and a repeat visit to the SEC Championship!
