I'm pretty sure NO one is surprised by this, but looks like the official statement is imminent. Good luck to Coach Steele.

Well....

I hate to lose Coach Steele, however, I have the feeling that Coach Saban will found an adequate replacement. Good luck to Steele, he goes back home and going to help Dabo out at Clemson.

any rumors about who will be the new DC?

I just had a feeling, based on Saban’s statements and also the circumstances around Steele’s departure, that Saban had someone in mind.

Smart

I suspect Smart will continue to be DC. I suspect CNS will look for a good recruiter and maybe LB coach or something like that.

Some other board mentioned Coach Kines for LB coach and as fun as that could be, I don’t think it would ever be a reality.

Maybe im lost

But im not sure why we need to hire anyone. We have smart- who is the DC and coaches the D-backs…don’t we have a d-line coach and LB coach or did Steele have those responsibilies also?

When you are an Alabama fan you are expected to hate Auburn, I hate Tennessee because I want to.

I thought

but I’m not sure that Steele had LB responsibility.

Mainly

‘cause Steele is a good recruiter I would think. I’m not sure some of these titles on coaching staffs have any real meaning other than pay grade.

I wonder

if the distractions were higher due to this and Smith than we realized. Sour grapes, I know, but still…
