"I tell you, Alabama's a very clean team. After watching the tape, a lot of guys could've taken hard shots at Stephen right as he threw the ball, but they sort of veered off and didn't clobber him near as badly as maybe some other teams do."

Steve Spurrier in an interview posted at TheState.com. It also mentions the hit on Moe Brown as being clean. Not that we thought we were a dirty team or anything, but it was nice for Spurrier to comment on our defense playing clean.

I hope they don’t veer off of Crompton, not that I want him injured. I just want him to keep our D in his memories long after the game is over.

If Spurrier says so...

then it must be the truth! He’s always been the coach to speak his mind and not be afraid to tell it like it is. If it WERE a dirty hit, he’d be saying the complete opposite.

Thanks for giving the Barnies something else to complain about.

After spending seven wondrous years in the state of Alabama, never in my life have I seen fans, who claim to be loyal to one team, spend more time AUbsessing over the other more so than they do their very own.
