1. BAMA 29, vols 3
2. BAMA gets 4 sacks and 3 turnovers. tennesee gets none
3. BAMA 445 yards total O, vols 210 yards (mostly in garbage time vs 3rd string)
4. collin peek smashing the living daylights out of eric berry while downfield blocking/roy upchurch doing the same, while carrying the ball.
5. james carpenter doing his best to hold down the left side of the line
6. when eric berry gets used for some BS fancy play on O, probably out of the wildcat. mark barron destroys him on this play.
7. UT’s kickoff unit. BAMA kick coverage isn’t too solid, and UT’s return unit will get many many chances to make something happen (“something” meaning: advancing the ball past the 50 yard line)
8. seriously? kiffin, because he’s getting his ass handed to him and there’s still over 50 minutes to play and he’s down more than 2 TD’s.
9. when the crowd sings Rammer Jammer
10. 2008. a total beatdown from start to finish. there may be a fleeting moment when ut fans think they have a punchers chance, but that moment will be swiftly and brutally ended by BAMA’s D.

You really think

That Alabama will score more than 14 points in the first 10 minutes of the game? Alabama has only score 14 points the entire first quarter once this year, against North Texas. They had 10 points against Florida International and South Carolina, and did the following in the other games:

  • Virginia Tech: 9
  • Arkansas: 0
  • Kentucky: 7
  • Ole Miss: 3

yes.

1 TD set up from special teams/defense. another earned by the O on a 70 some yard drive.

south carolina has a better defense than y’all and we’re due for some regression to the mean, which in this instance means a breakout week for GMAC and company.

Well, if you meant 14

Then fair enough. I doubt it’ll happen, but I could see that. Your post said more than 2 TDs which is why I got a bit mind-boggled.

I'm not saying it's going to happen...

I’m just saying…Tennessee isn’t any better than any of the teams you’ve just mentioned. They MIGHT have a slight edge over North Texas and FIU.

i think the game will be the kind that fits nicely into the realm of "games defined by pixies songs"

1st quarter =‘s “Bone Machine”. BAMA starts bringing the pain, and bringing it in a mechanical way.
2nd quarter =’s a crimson “Wave of Mutilation” as BAMA’s overwhelming surplus of talent and coaching acumen take their toll. BAMA by 24 at the half.
3rd quarter =‘s “Where Is My Mind?” as crompton searches for steady ground to crawl on/pass out on due to frequent and unrelenting abuse at the hands of the aforementioned Bone Machine.
4th quarter =’s “Hey”. as in “Hey vols! we just beat the hell out of you! Rammer Jammer Yellow-Hammer give em hell Alabamer!!!”

Time for grosse hyperbole!

1) UA – 1,345,867; UT – 2

2) UA- 0 and 0; UT – 456,987 TO and 2,345 sacks

3) UA – 85 miles total offense, UT – three feet total offense.

4) Terrence Cody flattening a runner into a pancake, and then eating said delicious treat.

5) Eric Berry staring into Mark Ingram’s lifeless, man-train-machine eyes and feeling the cold spike of utter terror.

6) Mount Cody having an pre-dinner snack: Crompton O’s

7) The medical team; they’ll be busy. They’re still special, though!

8) Nick Saban, after a ref doesn’t understand that Trent Richardson is deaf to any and all whistles and deserves to run wherever he wants, with as many opposing players attached to him as he feels the trip needs.

9) Dominance.

10) Every one the Tide won.

Sounds good, here you go:

(1) ’Bama 24, Tennessee 13

(2) ’Bama gets five sacks and forces three turnovers, Tennessee gets two sacks and forces two turnovers

(3) 355 total yards for ’Bama, 248 for Tennessee

(4) Mark Ingram runs, a couple of big hits by the ’Bama defense, and pretty much anytime Berry scratches himself

(5) Greg McElroy versus himself; also, Julio Jones versus three Tennessee DB’s

(6) ’Bama front seven rushing the passer

(7) ‘Bama special teams wet the bed, as always, and Arenas’ lingering rib injury makes it more lopsided.

(8) Saban… he’ll go off on somebody during the team breakfast. Or before.

(9) Greg McElroy’s performance… if he plays anything like he did from the second half of the VT game through the Arkansas game, ’Bama wins pretty big.

(10) I think it will most represent last year. UT really struggles offensively, ’Bama wears ’em down, and slowly pulls away in the end for a relatively comfortable victory.

  1. 20-17 Tennessee.
  2. UA gets 1 sack, 2 TOs. Tennessee gets 4 Sacks, 3 TOs. (As a note here, Tennessee has only allowed 6 sacks all year, and none in the last two games.)
  3. I think both offenses will be in the 300 yard field, but neither over 200. UA with more yards.
  4. Eric Berry breaking the NCAA career interception record. Chris Walker getting a sack & forced fumble, Ingram and Berry colliding.
  5. Alabama O-Line vs Tennessee D-Line. The Tennessee front four has played very well so far in the season, and come into the game well rested. In particular, Alabama’s control of Dan Williams in the middle is critical. Can Bama get big plays? Tennessee’s longest touchdown play given up on defense is a 19 yard run — from WKU.
  6. Cody vs Cody. If UT’s O-Line can’t get leverage against Alabama, there will be some big trouble. Gerald Jones and Denarius Moore have looked great the past 5 quarters, will that continue?
  7. With a name like Leigh Tiffin, I have to go with ‘Bama. Tennessee has been atrocious on Special Teams, and I think one team will get a big play from the return game. Whoever it is might decide the game. Or… might not, like last year’s fumble.
  8. Neither. Both of these coaches have kept their calm, mostly. If I were a betting man, I’d say Saban, because there’s more that could get him P/Od in this game (if Tenennessee plays well.)
  9. Stopping the Alabama Rush. Tennessee has a very good passing defense, and I don’t think ’Bama has the talent/ability to beat them without a strong rushing game.
  10. 1995 WOO!!!

How on earth is Tennessee going to score 20 points on Alabama?

Did you finally find that Catfish to replace Crompton?

I'm wrong all the time.

by PeteHoliday on Oct 20, 2009 1:58 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

I'm actually

Banking on Tennessee getting the “special” special teams play.

I think one team will get a big play from the return game. Whoever it is might decide the game. Or… might not, like last year’s fumble.
So, call it 13 points by the offense.

Frankly, I think 10 points will be enough to beat UT this weekend. Which is good, because the way GMac played last game, that might be all we get.

I'm wrong all the time.

Process

UA haz it, UT is trying to survive year.

They’ve been competitive with lesser talent, and some of the SEC teams are not as good as advertised, they could make a Tidy bowl yet. That said, ’Bama is outta their league. Well, ’Bama is entirely on another planet, launching nukes from space at Knoxville and eating their pizza.

This is, I think, the game that the Tide gets absolutely off on an SEC foe, I just think Crompton won’t be able to do anything against you guys, with no run game y’all will tee off on that kid all day. Their D, while not bad, will wear out.

Even if your offense struggles, you’re going to own the ball throughout the contest, in my personal opinion. I expected a closer game at Florida, I expect a slasher flick on steroids here.

Yes

But UCLA and Florida both have pretty good D-Lines. I’d put my money on 1 or 2 sacks for Alabama.

Ok sounds good let's hope this come true,

Last week I predicted Ingram to have 200 yards and Trent to have 100 and us to struggle passing only havin 150 yards to my co worker.

1. Bama 27 UT 0 (about time for our first shut out of the season too close last two weeks)

2. Bama gets 7+ sacks 3+ turnovers, UT 2 sacks no turnovers

3. Bama Passing 200 yards Ingram 150 other rushing yards 100 total = 450 +/-
UT passing yards 125 rushing yards 30 total 155

4. Highlights include both Julio and Ingram throwing off Berry and getting a touchdown.
Also Crompton crying like a little girl cause he gets his ass thrown to the dirt so much he cant see straight.

5. Ingram bouncing off of Berry and Julio throwing berry off him.

6. the bama front 7 spending some serious time in Cromptons grill, sacks by Reamer, Mcclain, Arenas, Cody and the rest of the D. UT embarrassed when they try to run.

7. Special teams kinda a wash a couple good punt returns by bama but let UT start to close to the 50 after kickoffs twice.

8. Saban looses his cool after a minor miscue just to keep his team fired up and Saban cussing the team telling them they want to welcome Kiffin to BDS with another UT ass whopping, when the team starts to rest with a small lead.

9. Bama D and me singing " Fuck you Rocky Top go to Hell Tennessee" after we destroy crompton over and over.

10. 2002, 2007, 2008 another beat town of the puke orange.

10.

36-0

1. BAMA 31, UT 7

2. BAMA gets 3 sacks, 4 turnovers

3. GMac has a mediocre night (which I would consider an improvement), but the RB corps puts up 250+ rushing yards, with Ingram accounting for at least half of those.

4. GMac and Julio finally get in the same groove, and Julio gets hit for a 40+ yd TD pass. (yes, i am completely aware that It’s sort of inconsistent with #3…but I firmly believe that this will happen)

5. Mark Ingram vs. the world

6. Jonathan Crompton vs. a defense like he’s never seen before.

7. I don’t know know much about UT’s special teams…but their return coverage couldn’t possibly be any worse than Bama’s. Hell, if they can return just one kickoff without drawing a penalty…then they’re doing better than Alabama. As much as I deeply hate Tennessee, and hate to even come close to complementing them…they probably have the edge on Bama in special teams.

8. Saban…while he should have much less to be upset about than Kiffin, he’s just far more intense than David Hasselh…err…I mean Lane Kiffin.

9. The Alabama Offensive line. While they proved theirselves against what was supposed to be a fierce SC pass rush, I will not be impressed until all 14 (yeah, I said 14) games of this season are finished.

10. Every single one that UT lost…

I just hate Tennessee...I can't stress that enough.

4. Slapshot, Glory
5. Bama’s Shaft vs. UT’s Pee Wee’s Big Adventure
6. Bama’s Orca vs. UT’s Willard
7. Bama’s Blues Brothers
8. Bama’s Rock Star, because He Got Game
