Listening to Saban last night.....
What is all this business about "no university connected entitiy shall encourage or make noise on opponent's 3rd down". Saban said that a special ncaa ruling came down about noise on 3rd down and he made a call for fans to make noise to disrupt the Vols play calling on crucial downs. I looked for the ruling on the web, but could not find it.
These officials are changing the game of college football, taking away celebrations and now crowd noise. Image a field goal kicker looking at 3,000 worms waving like they do in basketball. If you watched FSU/NC last night you saw the refs blow a scooped int call, even after reviewing it. Good thing FSU won anyway. When will all this nonscense stop?

We should be careful...
…if our fans get loud when UT is facing a third and long, Barnies and Steve Spurrier may turn us in!
After spending seven wondrous years in the state of Alabama, never in my life have I seen fans, who claim to be loyal to one team, spend more time AUbsessing over the other more so than they do their very own.

It's not the crowd noise that's the issue...
it’s the pumped in noise. In Bama’s case it’s the playing of AC/DC on 3rd down in an effort to get the crowd pumped up that’s the problem. meh.

One more thing...
this isn’t a new rule. When I was part of the MDB, we had to stop playing the minute the other team broke the huddle. I would imagine this is the same for music played over the pa system.

Yes, the issue is actually not the artificial noise but when it is stopped, right?
Apparently, we let the PA system play ACDC too long. BTW, every team I have watched this year is playing ACDC on third downs and I wish we would just go back to the elephant trumpet since that is actually unique to us and I guess Rose-Hullman Institute the only other team I know that uses an elephant.
I wouldn't piss off the boys from Alabama . . . DBT

I love the song
But they need to flog whoever got the ball rolling on the Hells Bells overkill. It was originated in San Diego when it was time for Trevor Hoffman to come in and close the game, and you would hear the bells chime. Now it’s dime a dozen at any major sports venue.
And while I’’m at it,knock off the Crazy Train intro as well.
