Did 3rd Saturday in Blogtober Predict the Rocky Block?

Way back in August, Crimson Daddy over at 3rd Saturday in Blogtober made the photoshop on left in response to SI's Andy Staples comparing the Alabama defense to the Hydra of Greek mythology. It certainly seems to have more than a passing resemblance to Kent Gidley's shot of the field goal attempt that ended the game.

I've watched the Rocky Block

about 15 times today. It’s tantamount to a baseball team leading a game, giving up the lead in a disappointing way, and then winning with two outs in the ninth on a homerun. Mount Cody went deep!

Hi. Gator alum here. If we end up playing you all in Atlanta, I hope that Coach Meyer has a plan for dealing with Siege Engine #62. But for the life of me, I can’t think that would be. Run away from him, maybe. But seriously, a guy that big shouldn’t have that sort of motor that late in a game. Nice win, Tide, even if you’re a week late copying the Gators’ model of white-knuckle, stomach-churning victories that take ten years off your life by turning you to drink and loose women.

Some of us are easier to turn than others, of course.
