Bama is now part of "the conspiracy theory."

Star-divide

All of the Rocky Toppers have joined the Barners and Hogwash-ers, among others, who believe that the failure fo the ref's last night to run down Mt. Cody and penalize him for taking off his helmet, after the game was over, but he was "still in the line of play," was all in furtherance of the CBS payola-to-the-officials to keep Bama and Florida undefeated for great network ratings for all of the Bama and Florida games, culminating with the SEC  Championship in Atlanta.

I just wish, if they really had a conspiracy to make us win, they would onsider calling some of the pass interference calls when they basically bound and gagged Julio.  But I guess that is supposed to be one of the big sub-plots of the conspiracy--"when will the once-in-a-generation player finally break out?" and the resolution to that sub-plot can only occur in Atlanta!!!!!  As they say, us conspiracy people love lots of apostrophes!!!!!!

FanPosts are just that; posts created by the fans. They are in no way indicative of the opinions of SBN and the authors of Roll Bama Roll.

If there was a conspiracy theory...

…I’m quite certain the blatantly obvious holding would’ve been called, and the blatantly obvious pass interference on Julio in the endzone would’ve been called. And in addition, UA would’ve not had over 100 penalty yards against USCe.

Excuses are for losers. Get used to it because the more Alabama and Florida win, the more the outrageous cries will grow.

After spending seven wondrous years in the state of Alabama, never in my life have I seen fans, who claim to be loyal to one team, spend more time AUbsessing over the other more so than they do their very own.

And might I add...

…the ref would’ve given us a freebie for the time he costed Julio a first down on third by running into him.

Interesting:

I’d DEFINITELY say the referees were on our side, especially on that play.

Nope. It's All True.

Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, SEC officials, the Illuminati, and space aliens all meet in Gadsden and agreed to the plan. I read it on a blog.

They also agreed on a scheme to develop anti-matter weapons to take over the world.

Gadsen?

Then why wasn’t the Klan there?

The only ones

crying conspiracy are UT fans. Truth is the ball was recovered by Bama. It was our ball they can not give the ball back to UT. For example if my team recovers a fumble and I go crazy and rip my helmet off while the ball is still on the ground, it still goes to my team just with a 15 yard penalty.

Or take excessive celebration after a TD, or a guy high stepping into the end zone. They don’t take the TD away, they just penalize me on the kick.

Or even if the Vol kicker makes his kick but while the ball is flying toward the goal post the kicker rips of his helemt, the kick is still good, the play stands and the game is stil over. No rekick.

Now if UT had recovered, it was only 3rd down, then they could get another kick if the refs had called it. Too bad UT, you should have recovered the ball.

I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

No...

…they couldn’t have gotten another kick, because there was no time left on the clock. That’s the point…it doesn’t matter who recovered or what down it was, because the game was over.

Wouldn’t the rule that the game cannot end on a defensive penalty come into play? If UT had recovered the blocked kick AND a penalty was called on Cody BEFORE the play was blown dead, I believe they’d get a kick from 15 yards closer. None of those things happened, so we have nothing to worry about and no one has anything to complain about!

No, because the refs got there desired results...

blow some calls favoring UT and call some (or not call some) in Bama’s favor, haven’t you been listening?

No. Both of those contentions are wrong.

Please read

Also, you don’t get a rekick if you recover a blocked kicked on third down. Once the kicker’s foot touches the ball, the possession is over, just like you don’t get another chance if you miss a field goal on third down.

by Paranormal on Oct 26, 2009 10:38 AM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Actually, that's only partly correct, as well...

It’s not “once the ball leaves the kicker’s foot”, it’s “once the ball crosses the line of scrimmage”. The ball was officially Bama’s once the ball crossed the line of scrimmage after it was blocked. Now, had Cody blocked the last kick the same way he did the first (where the ball never crossed the line) UT could have recovered the ball (since it would have never crossed the LOS), possession would have never changed hands, and Cody could have been flagged. As it currently stands, Cody likely should have been flagged, but it would have been Bama’s ball, 15 yards back from where they recovered.

To reiterate, when a FG is blocked and crossed the line, it essentially turns into a punt. When it is blocked and doesn’t cross the line, it’s essentially a fumble and can be picked up and advance by either team, unless it’s 4th down, meaning the kicking team/offense cannot advance a fumble.

All of the UT whining

is only making the victory sweeter. I wish we had beat them by 20 points, but this is the second best way to win. A win is a win, so let them whine all they want.

"The Conspiracy Theory" by Daniel A. Moore

New Life Art is proud to announce the release of “The Conspiracy Theory,” a limited edition of fine art giclee prints and canvases by internationally acclaimed artist Daniel A. Moore. This work of art commemorates the controversial deal made between Alabama Coach Nick Saban, Florida Coach Urban Meyer, and a group of CBS and SEC officials. In a series of vignettes woven into a stunning collage, the artist has portrayed the aforementioned figures signing a lengthy contract in a discreet location. The central focus of the painting, this scene is surrounded by miniature representations of the many plays that were instrumental in reassuring stellar television ratings and ensuring that the Crimson Tide would again meet the Florida Gators in the conference championship game in Atlanta, Georgia. Each giclee print and each canvas with a key to the plays contained in the artwork and a Certificate of Limited Edition. To commemorate the Crimson Tide’s perfect 14-0 record, the first 140 will also receive a limited edition replica of the legal document portrayed in this timeless painting.

I think SBNation

Needs to have an edit time window for comments. Yeah, yeah proofreading, etc…. but there is nothing more frustrating than finally hitting post and immediately seeing a big grammatical error or typo and not being able to do anything about it.

I love it

Because I’m currently marketing a new line of colored tin foil hats to UT and Arkansas fans that will allow them to keep the demon rays out from the vile conspirators while still showing Team Spirit.
