Around SBN: Jeremy Lin And How The Pac-12 Missed Him

I don't know what to make of this...

...but our very own Leigh Tiffin is leading the nation with 20 field goals.  Granted, he's only second in the "Field Goals Per Game" category, as UCLA has only played 7 games, and their PK currently has 19, but this is a stat that I don't recall Bama topping in quite some time, if ever.  I guess it's good that he's "Money" (anyone? anyone? Beuller?), but I just feel that this is not the greatest of signs.  As the title states, I just don't know what to make of this...

Does anyone here speak Jive?

Auburn fans are like slinkys... not really good for anything but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

This...

…is not necessarily a terrible statistic. The much more troubling statistic would be our red zone efficency, specifically our touchdown conversion percentage. We are currently 110th at 43%. That is awful.

This statistic means...

… our red zone offense is pure shit.

When you score touchdowns on only about 40% of trips to the red zone, your kicker is going to hit a lot of field goals.

It also means...

…that Leigh Tiffin has done an excellent job for us this year.

Bad news for red-zone offense,

but Tiffin has really redeemed himself this year. If we were in Tennessee’s shoes yesterday, there’s little doubt in my mind that Tiffin would be the legend we’re celebrating Cody as this week. He proved that he can carry the game on his shoulders this past week combined with some huge defensive plays.

without tiffin

we wouldnt have beat tennessee. so honestly i hve to say way to go tiffin

by rolltideforever21 on Oct 26, 2009 4:03 PM CDT reply actions

yeah it's not good to have a kicker leading the nation in attempts or makes

but it is sure better than leading in misses, otherwise we’d of lost at least one game, maybe 2 or 3…

so hat’s off to tiffin who has really come together and is proving to be a solid kicker in his senior year. he’ll be passing doyle and proctor’s records soon so that means something. i know i’ve got a lot of confidence in him particularly on carpet. so this dec 5th, if we need him, i’m glad to say that i think he’ll deliver if he needs to hit a big one or two in that game.

welcome to the SEC kiffykins...

He...

…passed Proctor Saturday…I think he needs nine points to pass Doyle.
