In case you were wondering just how annoyed Commissioner Mike Slive is with the mouth of UcheaT's coach, here's a sample:

Since it is clear from your public comments that you believe this letter “mean(s) nothing”, let me be equally as clear to you. The next time you, or a member of your staff, make public comments of this nature, you will be suspended from all coaching duties for one or more games, and the institution may be subjected to a substantial fine. I also remind you that this is your second public reprimand in your brief tenure as Tennessee’s Head Football Coach and on both occasions you were wrong about the applicable rules.

You can read the entire reprimand letter (released through a Freedom of Information Act request apparently) over at MrSEC.com. Talk about a major league trip to the woodshed...and so very richly deserved. I don't know that anything can penetrate that skull, but I suspect this will at least get Hamilton to pull the leash a little.

Ok, but in all honesty

what does the letter really mean? I would submit that until Kiffin is actually punished the letter really means nothing. I’m going to assume that Kiffin already got a warning letter from the first time. Nothing happened than and nothign is happenign now, just a harsher warning. Big deal.

And, if you are Kiffin, who knows if you lose tonight to SC and then Ole Miss etc. maybe you shoot your mouth off and get suspended. Because to Kiffin this team is all about him and it is all about the publicity he can gather, which he thinks will help recruiting. To Kiffin there is no such thing as bad publicity. And the UT fans seem to dig his crazy behavior. I would not be surprised to see him try and get suspended. I think he is a big jerk, but I also think he does these things with a plan.

I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

Lane Kiffin is such a jerk

I respect almost every other coach out there, but his arrogance is a little strong.

MATRIX: Bennett, I thought you were--
