The Blue Out

Smurfs3_medium
Hotty Toddy! Smurf Almighty!

The message boards are a-hummin with reports that Houston Nutt himself called for a "Blue Out" on Saturday. If the reports are accurate (and it's not like there isn't a precedent for this or anything), it seems Ole Miss fans will be asked to adorn themselves in blue to welcome the Crimson Tide to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. This can only mean one thing. Prepare yourself for lots and lots of inebriated smurfs!

FanPosts are just that; posts created by the fans. They are in no way indicative of the opinions of SBN and the authors of Roll Bama Roll.

Who is this guy?

Is he a blogger on this site or one of the related ones?

MATRIX: Bennett, I thought you were--

BENNETT: Dead? You thought wrong. Ever since you had me thrown out of the unit, I've been waiting to pay you back. Do you know what today is, Matrix? Payday.

That's David Cross

He’s a comedian who was also on Arrested Development. His character decided to join the Blue Man Group, thus the paint. He also tended to speak in double entendres, thus “I just blue myself.”

Oh, okay.

I was going to really insult him but then I didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings.

The original pic...

Some people never learn...

Does no one remember the last time they “colored out” for an Alabama game?

But I am glad, nonetheless

I like it when our foe is readily identifiable by a starkly contrasting color. Am I starting to sound a little like Rev. whateverhisnameis from churchofsaban? Where has he been lately, anyway?

I am sitting in amongst

them on Sat. and I guess all the Rebs will know I am from Bama because no way am I wearing anything blue. Sometimes it is better to get these things clearly out in the open before the game begins.

By the way the more they hype this game the better for us.

I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

Don't get your hopes up.

Our fans care too much about their outfits to let what a coach says steer them differently. Our ladies have the entire season planned out, and no last second blue out is going to stop them from wearing that red dress.

It's official...
Dear Students,

ARE YOU READY?

This is our first SEC game at home and we need all of you to be at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium AT LEAST one hour before kick-off! When your Rebels take the field for pre-game… we need you in the stands! We need your energy. You are such a huge part of our program and we need you more than you know. Get on your feet and be LOUD… we need you for all four quarters.

The Rebels will be looking for you in the stands… EARLY! Wear your blue and let’s LOCK THE VAUGHT!

Google blue search

Arguably the best jazz album of all time ‘’Kind of Blue’’ from the great cool jazz era ,musician Miles Davis should no way be associated with Ole Miss rednecks.

not necessarily underwhelmed....

just used to the ploy by now

throughout the Coach O debacle years, our athletic department thought up great themes like “CODE RED” in which they would flash a red siren at the beginning of the game and fans were supposed to wear red every game..

like juco has mentioned earlier, ole miss (particularly students) plan these outfits out before hand

as a 2 year alum, i still like to plan which game gets the seersucker/bow tie/etc before hand

for this saturday, my latest b-day bow tie, http://www.southernproper.com/store/gentlemen/beaus/mississippigentlemen-beau-redorange.html

bama’s equivalent (in case your interested, great site) is here: http://www.southernproper.com/store/gentlemen/beaus/elephant-beau.html

you know, this might come as a shock...

but i tend to not give much of a damn what i wear to a game (outside of my lucky shirt, of course). i’m there to watch my team play, not worry about other people looking at me. my support is through the willing donation of my vocal cords not the cut of my smoking jacket or what-the-fuck ever.

Dressing for success

I am more inclined to dress in accoradnce with the weather. For a day game, anytime before November, a sun dress is in order, or you will glow way too much. For last year’s game where it snowed, my 15 year old daughter was humiliated to be within 50’ of Mom in the full-length Black-glamma mink. Those guys have been dead for many years and I was very warm.
