Trent is awesome
but realistically he will not get enough carries to win any awards as long as Ingram is healthy. Plus with the return of Upchurch I would not be surprsied to see him get even fewer carries.
We are loaded at RB, to bad our O-line is not the big dominating type. Even Ingram will be hard pressed to be first team All SEC unless we start clearing the way a little better. Long runs aside, we are not really running the ball all that great even with truly great backs.
I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

not the big dominating type?
how do you figure that?… the only success an opponent has had against stopping our run was arkansas when they continually flooded the line with 7 guys to our 5… seems like two of our guys were double teamed most downs. and we still beat the tar out of them. I think it was OTS who wrote about how we are a few pounds lighter than last year, but still I don’t see much of a difference 10 pounds less a guy makes. maybe this just means they will be a tad bit quicker than last year. the difference I’ve noticed this year to last is that we are a slower out of the gates to score points. last year we would go up 30 points in the first half and then ride out the win. this year we seem to be a big second half team. our offensive line is manhandling defenses and by the third quarter they are totally spent! I think that is pretty dominating.
so easy... even an Auburn fan can do it!

Well
we have worn teams down some, but take away the long runs and we did not run it good against VT, Arky, and UK. Not really. We often run up the middle for 1 or 2 yards and I don’t know how many times two runs have gotten us GMac throwing on 3rd and 8.
I’d even go this far. If JPW was QB, being the game manager that he was, we may very well not be undefeated. Last year we over powered you and pounded the ball, this year we take what you give us becaude you have to give us something. That usually means Maze, Hanks, Peek, Ingram on a screen, etc.
We are smarter, we may be better overall, but no way are we stronger on the run.
And by the way, wearing teams down works better early in the season when it is humid, and in day games and that has been most our games to date. It won’t work as well in Nov or at night or against deep teams such as UF.

A wee bit lop-sided eh??
Yeah who the hell is this Christine chick?! Haha
I second the whole thing about having a non physical O line. If they could get more push and open more holes our run game would be historical. Mostly I’m really worried about or defense though. Against Arkansas we never really stopped them…they just dropped a lot of passes (mind you that the secondary probably had them thinking twice, but still) and kentuckys run game pretty much went uncontested and the only time we stopped them was off of turnovers that really had a lot of “right place right time” kinda flare to them. I’m truly worried. That offense of ours needs to take long consistent drives to keep that D fresh and off the field or else something bad could happen…
It's not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win that makes the difference.

I heart
TF, really I do, He’s a swell player in the big ten, but TR is a BADA$$ Running Back in the SEC

From what I figure
This being a Bama blog, any player with the ‘Tate’ name/surname automatically becomes a candidate for ire, specifically for certain individuals’ allegiances with two not-well-liked institutions among Bama fans (referring to ‘Ben’ and ‘Golden’)
