It's Meltdown Time...
With us getting deeper and deeper into the football season, that only means that the stakes become higher and higher with each passing game week. And that, of course, simply means that the meltdowns become all the more epic as we go. This week we have great meltdown material from LSU, Notre Dame, Michigan, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Auburn.
And I know what you are thinking, "But didn't Auburn beat Furman 63-31 on Saturday?" Yes, yes they did. But of course, as anyone who really knows much about Auburn is well aware of, a sizable portion of the Auburn fanbase really don't so much like their Tigers as they loathe Alabama with every fiber of their being, and oh that Patrick Peterson controversial incompletion / interception... well, let's just say you thought the LSU fans took it bad.
Anyways, we've got a lot of great material this week. We have conspiracy theories, championship game protests, Gerry Faust, toilet bowls, coaching wishes, guys going gay for the betterment of their team, Nuke Lalouche references, a trip to the Shoney's, and one guy who is afraid he might end up swimming with the fishes.
As always, the language can and does get rough, so if you don't like that then read the next piece on RBR. You've been warned, so don't come back crying later on.
And now, without further adeiu, it's meltdown time...

Is Les becoming this generation's Charlie Mac?
I am sick of the excuses Tiger fans come up with. Yes, we were the victim of a huge officials error, but Alabama is better. We have no discipline and our players are soft. They adjusted to everything we had success with earlier in the game and they played tougher. Crowton has taken us a far as he can on offense and our players need to take some pride in this team. Expect this trend to continue.
Is Les Miles becoming the Mark Richt of the West?
We're 7-7 in our last 14 SEC games...
LSU will NEVER win with JJ running the freaking option! Why cant Crowton get it through his head that it does not work!!!
How far is the SEC Office from the University of Alabama?!?!?!?!?!?!
It's not the team, it's coaching!!!!!!!!!!
Miles to Michigan? I'll pay his moving expenses.
Official petition for to never play in the state of AL. LSU just isn't going to get significant calls when playing a highly ranked Auburn or Alabama team in the state of Alabama
![]()
I'm not watching the SECCG in protest. For the first time ever I am not going to watch the SECCG and I think that the rest of the SEC fans (besides FLA/Bama of course) should do the same.
Miles needs to take the $30k hit and tell the stripes to kiss his ass.
Bama is gonna give us fits for years to come.

OH SHIT!!!!! Not good... Not fucking good at all...
How many recruits go if a coaching change???
who do you want as new coach?
My top choice right now would be to lure Mark Richt away from Georgia.
6-6 with this schedule? Imagine if we played in the SEC... 2-10.
Navy has how many 4-5 star recruits?
Is it too late to get Gruden here by next Saturday?
Every ND fan should root for Pitt this week!
Should Notre Dame have sacked Weis two years ago?
Finally! Bob Davie vindicated!
Fans need to revolt! This is horsecrap Uttter horsecrap. I dont care if we lose every Sentreal Henderson, Kyle Prater, Chris Martin, give me some damn kids who want to play and do not feel like playing Navy is "above them." I dont care if Clausen goes pro, Tate goes pro, Parris comes out of the closet and doesnt come back. WE suck
Anyone think NBC will pressure to ND to improve play or lose the contract?
We are ND!!!! And we are TOILET BOWL BOUND!!!!!!
CHARLIE--GET OUT. QUIT TONIGHT.
anybody heard who our new coach is yet ? wake me up when they make the announcement.
Nick Saban would come for $7,000,000 per year and recruit like no one has ever done at notre dame. he has no buy out at alabama. he is not a nice guy but would win a minimum of 10 games every year with the schedule that notre dame plays every year. why hire a guy like brian kelly and hope that it will work out when you could have a guarantee with saban. i don't understand why a program like notre dame keeps half-stepping with their coaching hires.
GOOD BYE CHARLIE FAT FUCK WEIS!!!!!
Even Gerry Faust's teams beat Navy.
Michigan

I'm a die hard Michigan fan, but I would like nothing else than to see RR fired. Time to bring in Les Miles from LSU!!!!
bring back Gary moeller?
Snake oil indeed. Please list the reasons to believe RR will be successful at UM. I really can't find any. What top recruit will sign? The home crowd is booing like I've never heard. It Every week brings a new low to our storied program. Shame...
THIS IS AN EMBARESSMENt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
U of M football reminds me of the Holy Roman Empire. Once upon a time it was really big and important...but now it's just history.
The Buckeye will administer a stomping like we have never seen.
RR is appropriate initials. He is a trainwreck.
Who knew RRod was brining the spread defense as well as the spread offense to Ann Arbor?
Hey! 5-7 is an improvement on 3-9, right?
number 1 tune on RR's iPod: "Patience" by Guns and Roses
Worst...Michigan...football team...ever. RR keeps setting new marks for modern era mediocrity.
Unless we get hit with NCAA sanctions, be prepared for 2 or 3 more years of this crap. Unbelievable. In 2 years, this idiot has turned us into the joke of the B10.
The numbers don't lie...this is the worst coach in UM football history. It looks like Mary Sue is headed for the title of worst president of UM, as well.
Beat the Buckeyes? They will put the final nail in the coffin. I am not sure UM will be able to field a team in 2010 after that game. Remember Mcguffofie. It was his last game for UM. I think it will happen to several other players again.
Dead on Nine Zone. Dishonest. No character. No leadership. Snake Oil salesman.
Brace yourself for what is coming... I'm praying I'm wrong. But realistically, we will lose badly the next two weeks. Our defense just cannot stop anyone.
When I heard yesterday we had a 17 game, 43 year home winning streak against Purdue I got a sinking feeling. And sure enough...another streak broken. Unfrickin real. Let's just get it all out of the way and start fresh next year.
What would YOU be willing to do for a 7-5 record?
I expect Bob Stoops to possibly leave after next year. He has no intention of hanging around like Joe P of Penn State. He said as much not too long ago. I just hope he doesn't leave us in a lurch! Please get rid of Kevin Wilson before you leave.
I admire your optimism.

I say play the backups next week. We will be 30 point dogs at home next week with no business being on the same field as UF. Why not give them valuable experience, reduce the chance of any starter getting injured, and give Clemson nothing to gameplan?
how many eggs can a rooster lay?
Wow, our first safety of the season, that's new.

Go ahead and feel great about the fact that your games are fixed because bammer isn't good enough to win without help and the league office knows it.....
Honest question from an Auburn fan..
Does bammer pass out collection plates, like they do at church, to raise money for players and paying off refs?
or threaten to form a new conference sans Bama..................Bama alone doesn't not make the SEC the SEC.
You program has been on cheating since the 1920's,
bama just paid off the refs. INT was overturned

I hate to admit this but Rita Rod is actually my third cousin. I know, I know – she sucks, you’ll get no arguments from me. But you have to imagine how excited I was when RR was being courted by UA, I was like -“Coaches box here I come!”
That being said, I would much rather watch a Saban lead Crimson Tide from the nose-bleeds than watch a RR coached team from a box.

Ahh, it's good to be back on top.
I remember in 4th grade, my math teacher in Georgia was an Auburn fan. The Monday after Auburn lost to Bama back in ’73 (I think), she starts off class ranting to a bunch of nine year olds about how Auburn got cheated by the refs.
A lovely lady by any other standard, but just lost all sense of propriety on the subject of Auburn/Alabama. Not sure if she got disciplined for it, but all of our parents sure heard about it.
This is what comes with the territory, so be ready.

That's funny on so many levels...
First off…
… in Georgia was an Auburn fan.
Naturally, right?
Anyway, it’s even more funny because the ’73 game was a 35-0 blowout. Complete domination by a national championship team of a 6-6 team. And yet, of course, to some of the Barners it was naturally just the refs…

Why not… STORM THE FIELD? After the very first ridiculous call against Auburn on November 27 (and there will be many) , why shouldn’t our fans (I’d suggest those without any PRIORS come to the front of the line) just come over the hedge and take a seat on the AU logo at the 50? I mean, WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL?

So
if there is some conspiracy regarding Bama buying off refs, or some mob related gambling ring, why in the hell weren’t we doing that during the Shula-Dubose era? I guess we intentionally brought about a decade of losing so it wouldn’t seem so obvious.
BTW, there are a lot of Saints fans on the Gulf Coast (including myself) and a lot of the older ones used to always talk about how the mob in NO was heavily involved in sports gambling. And that that was the reason the Saints were so bad throughout most of their history. Basically insinuating the games were fixed. I guess its a common excuse in an attempt to rationalize losing.

As an LSU fan...
… I am truly beginning to hate our fanbase. The ripping on Miles for “only” being able to win 10 games every year is just stupid. There was a huge thread on TD on whether Les Miles is the next Cholly Mack… as if that would be a BAD thing. Yes, I would hate to have a guy go 9-3 every year for a decade and a half. Sure, he couldn’t beat the Bear… who could?
And do not underestimate the very vocal part of LSU’s fanbase who absolutely loves Saban and worships everything he does. There’s nothing begrudging about it. It is another stick to beat Miles with.

But do they love Saban...
….on his own merits, or just because they can use his success at Alabama as a means of bashing Miles.

Depends on the person
But I think if a fan of any program is talking up the former coach, it’s usually to bash the current one.

Miles
Miles is a good coach, but it’s a toxic situation. The fact that the former coach is in LSU’s current division, and has completely taken back the SEC West.

CRYBARNERS
I find it absolutely hilarious, that the success of The University of Alabama, is being attempted to be overshadowed by a controversial INT call late in a game of which a championship caliber Alabama team had already decided they were going to take control of. It’s amazing that we have converted the entire Auburn nation into LSU fans, and quite amusing. I guess we’ll see the barners in Starkville this weekend. Don’t forget your cowbells…we know you’ve got em’. Breathe easy for the next three weeks barners, your beatdown is on the horizon

I have to agree with the LSU fans......
Gmac is a game manager with an ability to throw the accurate pass. His ability to scramble and run the ball is average at best. He underthrows the deep ball most of the time. And here lately he seems to favor his back foot as leverage for the deep passDon’t get me wrong Gmac is who I want in there right now. However when Saban does field that star QB with all the tools needed, look out. So who will it be? AJ McArron? Phillip Sims? or some other QB not yet signed. Hopefully it will be sooner than later right?

Colt McCoy
Would look pedestrian or worse in the SEC. Give it a rest. Actually I don’t think Colt would have survived an entire season in the SEC. He’s a scrawny little dude who doesn’t get hit but in one game a year.

GMac...
…has done a fine job. As a first-year starter in this league, he has exceeded my expectations.
We clearly have some phenomenal talents at QB waiting in the wings, but don’t underestimate the talent of the current starter. I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t start every game until 2011.

That was a great call! Who woulda thunk we would have GMac run a draw with 5 wide (I think it was atleast). Not me, not you and definitely not the LSU defense.

I don't know...
…we’ve done that a couple of times before, but not in this particular game. Having someone like McElroy who is not a real running threat (but is decently mobile) helps sell that five wide QB draw.

I also found new curse words
every SINGLE time we lined up in the 5-receiver formation in the second half.
Does Saban bless off on every offensive call, or does he just give guidance when he deems necessary?

I know I'm taking this quote a bit out of context but...
Official petition for to never play in the state of AL. LSU just isn’t going to get significant calls when playing a highly ranked Auburn or Alabama team in the state of Alabama
..sweet mercy, every close call in the 2007 game went LSU’s way. I know we weren’t highly ranked, but wow.
by Nico2.0 on Nov 10, 2009 11:39 AM CST reply actions 0 recs
2007
There was a few call that went their way, but they did commit a whole bunch of penalties, something like 15, to keep Alabama in that game.
I thought the more interesting thing was that for all the gnashing of teeth about how many penalties LSU had, it was exactly the number of yards they average per a game. LSU had penalties totaling 43 yards in the game, and they average 43.8 yards in penalties a game.

Who fans,Barners
I have to give some respect to the bayou fans.A lot see the writing on the wall for the future of Bama dominance, and did not realize,or want to accept a beast Saban has built so fast. But they all knew it was coming.
Well,Barner’s are what they are,no explanation needed. And they will be beat down for year’s to come.So they will have to invent new schemes every year to whine about.

I love Auburn fans
Really I do. It’s the only fans of any team I have ever seen in my life who week after week blames a team they aren’t even playing for their problems. Even when they win, they are still complaining about Alabama.
I guess since they aren’t really able to keep up their end of the “rivalry” on the field, they have to make themselves hated by their mouths.
Thanks Auburn fans for the laughs.
On a side note, I have to give LSU fans some respect. Their fans have showed alot of class this week in general. Sure, there are the occasion things, but overall there is a clear and noticeable different over the UT fans and Auburn fans every week.
I also thought it was an interception and wish they had called it as such. I hate bad play calls as much as the next guy. It’s easy to focus on the “help” you got, but it’s only a matter of time before the shoe is on the other foot. The errors in that call started with the officials on the field completely missing that it was a possible catch(took them over 5 seconds to call it incomplete, they weren’t discussing if it was in bounds or not, they were discussing if anyone actually saw it), and weren’t fixed in the replay booth as they should have been.
They should have atleast 3 people watching replays, if not more.
I don’t think it would have changed the outcome, but every team deserves a fair chance, and those kinds of bad calls only go to rip off the fans on both sides.
