[Glen] Coffee is one of the worst starting RBs in the league.
It seems the Niner's Nation has turned on former Tide tailback Glenn Coffee. A rough few games that probably have more to do with a godawful OL than his ability has them bemoaning the draft pick and making cow eyes at former Iowa RB Shonn Green who is now with the Jets. These are the kind of fans that deserve the prima donna nonsense of Michael Crabtree. I certainly no other Alabama players end up on the roster for these jerks.

Lower in the post though
he does concede that until the Niner’s line improves, they will be hard pressed to do ANYTHING well.
But you’re right. Most fans would have told Crabtree to go take a flying leap after his contract drama. And realistically, most fans who aren’t 49ers fans, had that mentality. That Crabtree was prima donna. But oh no, not the Niners. Niners fans were the ones eating caviar while the Titanic was going down; applauding acts of single-minded greed, while the whole damn boat broke apart around them.
Terrence Cody didn't like what time the sun came up today. So he reached up, and smacked it down.

the post itself isn't the problem
as much as the asinine reaction of the commenters. you got a young running back with known limitations who has been thrown into the worst possible situation for him. instead of bitching and moaning about it, he sucks it up and tries to do his job. and then these “fans” insist drafting him was a mistake.
mike tanier of football outsiders wrote an article earlier this year explaining how the most important thing for creating an nfl star is player development. and while coffee has a lot of the intangibles that make his prospects pretty bright (work ethic) he’s suddenly faced with obstacles that are dimming them as well (tanier’s no. 2 – The role he is expected to play, and his suitability that role.).
coffee is not a no. 1 starting running back at this point in his career. it’s a role he should not be forced to fill but, due to circumstance, he has been made to. it would be nice if these so called experts on the team would step back, realize that and take a more realistic assessment of what he has achieved. but i guess i’m asking to much for an nfl fan.

I couldn't agree more....
Coffee is a great RB, their OL just totally blows..

They should trade him...
and then watch as he blows the doors open with another team – I’m sure they’ll find something to cry about then, too.
