Congratulations

*Congratulations to our Alabama Crimson Tide for beating Mississippi State 31-3, which gives the university an NCAA record seventeenth 10-0 start. Winning ugly or winning away, it's not easy to win ten consecutive games and the fact that we have done so more than any other team in college football says something about the history of our program.

*Congratulations to Coach Nick Saban for having his first consecutive seasons with ten or more victories in his career. People forget that he never won more than nine games at either Toledo or Michigan State and in rebuilding LSU he was unable to follow any of his seasons with ten or more victories with ten or more the following season.

*Congratulations to the Tide and all her fans for breaking a dubious three year trend that began in 1996. Thanks to the NCAA's 1995 sanctions, we followed every ten win season (1996, 1999, 2002, and 2005) with a losing season (1997, 2000, 2003, and 2006). We followed every losing season with a mediocre season (gotta love the Music City and Independence Bowls in 1998, 2001, 2004, and 2007). The cycle then repeated, which showed the strength of our program (never more than three years without a season of ten or more victories) and also the horrible effects of NCAA sanctions. By winning ten games in 2009, we followed 2008's twelve win season with ten wins, the first time our program has done so since the 1991 and 1992 seasons. Here's to staying off probration and keeping it rolling.

*Congratulations to Marquis Johnson, a marqued man, for showing both Florida outcasts that he's not going to be the weak link on our defense. Way to go, Marquis.

Can't wait

to see Marquis covering Riley Cooper. I know Riley and Tim have this chemistry/karma thing going on becasue they are roomates but I think after Marquis and Riley get together they will be new best friends because they will be sharing the same jock strap.

Please Florida, please whatever you do don’t flank Timmy’s roomate out to the right on Johnson. Please put him on the left against Jackson. Please.

I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

Remarquable trend if you think about it.

Question here. When was the last time Bama had back to back undefeated seasons?

Just found it...

The Alabama Crimson Tide has never in the history of the program had back to back undefeated regular seasons. We have come very close. In 1978 10-1-0 and in 1079 10-0-0. Thats it. If we beat UTC and AU – history will be made. How about them apples!

correction......

In 1925 Bama went 9-0 then in 1926 Bama went 9-0 again. But hey ther are some other interesting facts (which I’m sure most of you know) like Bama has a winning record over every current and former member of the SEC. 8-perfect seasons, we hold the record for post season appearances with 56, another record 31 post season wins. 23 10-game win streaks 2nd to Oklahoma who holds 30. Bama has 18 10-0 starts. We lead the SEC west with 8 division titles and soon to be 8 SEC CG appearances. We rank 5th all time in AP Poll appearances. Bama has won the SEC championship a record 21 times. We have 4 Southern conference titles. So we have 25 conference titles all together. Everyone should take a moment and go to the Alabama football wikipedia page. It’s full of great stuff that most of you probably know. I knew we had great tradition and history yet I really didn’t comprehend the dominance untill I read some of it. I just hope we can add our first Heisman winner to the tradition rich history. Many great games have been played since the first ever in 1892. Here’s to many great ones to come. And heres to playing hard remaining focused and healthy all the way to Pasedena for National Championship No. 13. By the way if we win it, we pull into a tie for 1st place with Notre Dame for 8 consensus National Titles. Roll Tide forever !!!!!!!!!!
