"Fluker has done a lot, lost a lot of weight, got in a lot better shape and does a good job every day against the first-team defense. But so do the other three offensive linemen that are over there on that field, and they have made a lot of improvement and done a really good job for us.

Eddie Lacy is the scout team running back. Of all the people, that's probably the toughest job, because he gets the ball a lot, he gets hit a lot, he gets banged around a lot, and he makes a lot of plays.

Don Kausler Jr: Saban talks about Fluker, Stinson, Lacy and other freshmen on scout team

That comes directly from Coach Saban, and it's good to hear that the scout team guys are making such good progress. It's hard to believe, but we've reached a point to where our scout team features a lot of highly-touted guys who could have gone anywhere in the country, many of which will ultimately play on Sunday one day.

When they were having the AU melt-down

last week, these were some of the 5 star guys the Barners were lamenting us being able to sit on the bench. I can’t wait to see Fluker wreaking havoc, in a 15 yard radius.

I seriously

think we have the best coaching staff in the country at developing talent. Just look how much Ingram, Dareus, and Mark Barron improved from their first year to their second year. Robby Green is another one that I think is gonna be a special player for us. He hits hard to be as small as he is. It is just great to watch some of these players develop. I can’t wait to see how much Richardson improves from this year to next year. Roll Tide!

This upcoming season I'm gonna refer to Julio Jones as "The Magic Man" and Trent Richardson as "El Diablo"

You are exactly right.

That’s something that I have not thought a lot about. Ingram, Dareus, Green, Richardson, the list goes on and on. Also, don’t forget about Mark “The Red” Barron. This kid amazes me at how high his talent level is. When last year came to a close, I was really afraid of R. Johnson’s departure, but Barron has really surprised me. That kid is a monster.

If you want evidence...

…of this staff’s excellence in player development, Rashad Johnson is exhibit A….

or how about terrrence cody...

a junior college freak nobody gave a second look at. coach saban brought him on board, set him a high bar to meet and gave him the resources to do it. now he’s the apple in every NFL defensive coordinator’s eye.

I love...

…that our scout team would start in (and win) most of the mid-major conferences.
