In the present case, Miles has been known to employ a complicated vernacular to avoid the words, "Nick, " "Saban, " and "Alabama." He once vehemently denied a reluctance to pronounce Saban's name without saying it. And the habit surfaced again Saturday night after the Tulane game when, in his post game remarks, Miles more than once made a detour around the word, "Alabama."

That's just...

…the kind of silliness we’ve come to expect from the head coach of our upcoming opponent….

So what you’re saying is that now Auburn’s not even the best little brother in the SEC?

These are dark days on the plains, my friends.

I'm wrong all the time.

BENNETT: Dead? You thought wrong. Ever since you had me thrown out of the unit, I've been waiting to pay you back. Do you know what today is, Matrix? Payday.

Oh Lawd...

This is exactly the stuff I was talking about in the The LSU fan here post

The media wants everyone to believe that LSU fans/ coaches/ all pets/ etc. hate Saban. The majority of fans DONT CARE. But that doesn’t sell newpapers or generate page views.

as a bama fan

who was born and raised in deeeeeeeeep in tigah country, and therefore by default has about 300 friends who are lsu fans…you couldn’t be more wrong. i posted a thing about saban’s birthday on facebook over the weekend and he got trashed in the comments the rest of the afternoon by my friends who are lsu fans. and that’s obviously just one example of dozens over the last 3 years. that ain’t the media.

Yeah...

your probably right….most LSU fans are on facebook…AND the largest user group of facebook consist of a mature fan base who are old enough to have seen the pre-saban or even pre-miles LSU football.

glad you

fully understand then.

ummmmmmm

pre saban lsu was the late 90’s. did i give the impression i was 17 or something? i’m sorry if you’re so unfamiliar with facebook that you stereotype it as bunch of high schoolers on there. yes, i have a very vivid recollection of enjoying gerry dinardo pissing away top notch talent and curley hallman just being curley hallman. and therefore, 90% of my friends are within a few years of me and have the same frame of reference. however, no…i did not watch the billy cannon run live. did you

do a quick google search on the average age on facebook, you might be surprised mr. “i know the entire lsu fanbase.”

I’m not sure “a majority” is really something you can prove. There may be a lot of folks who feel the way you’re saying, but message board denizens are fans too, and so are the folks in gerry’s example.

When the head coach of your football team takes the tack that he has and is widely praised by the team’s fans for it, you’re pretty much throwing “the fans don’t feel this way” out the window.

I'm wrong all the time.

I'm coming out and admitting it, guys...

I’m not a person. I am actually a Crimson Tsunami, and I’ll be coming to Atlanta in December. Just a friendly flood warning.

“Mr. Varney, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.”

That had to be the most vapid, incoherent and useless article ever written. I’d like the last 2 minutes of my life back, please.

Unaware of this phenomenom

"We turn to our opponent this week. Alabama is a very good football team. Coach (Nick) Saban has done a very good job there."

This is from the post game press conference this past week against Tulane. This smells of a journalist simply looking for another “angle” to write about.

Le Smiles

is not a man to mess with. He’ll go for it on fourth down if you mess with him. He’ll put Trindon Holliday in at running back or do a fake field goal. Don’t piss him off. The man is dangerous.

Maybe we'll get replays of effigy burning...

…or maybe they’ll save that for the years we play in Red Stick.
