The Southeastern Conference has named Alabama cornerback Javier Arenas as its special teams player of week, the latest in a string of accolades for the Crimson Tide's star senior.
Arenas returned a punt 66 yards against UT-Chattanooga for his first touchdown of the season. It was also the seventh punt-return TD of his Alabama career, which set a new SEC record, breaking the mark of six by former Kentucky star Derek Abney.

After Javy returned UTC's punt for six coach removed him from the punt return team. At first I thought it was to....
protect Javey from potential injury. Then I saw his replacment on punt returns was Julio Jones. So my theory of protecting key personell from injury was blown out of the water. The only reasons I could come up with were A) let Javey break the NCAA record in a high profile game against either AU or Fla. Maybe let the enormous feat impress some recruits. B) Keep Javey’s talent on the down low. (although that may not be possible) If Javey would have returned another punt for six against UTC Cheese dip and Meyer might have used that success as reason to punt away from him or install some other type of special teams tricks. Its all just speculation but maybe someone else has some better insight?
Your temper brings dishonor to my happy mooshu palace.
Julio was in there just to make fair catches. Javy is more important player on our team then Julio.
I love Julio but losing Javy in the UTC game on a return or cheap hit on a fair catch would be worse than losing Julio.
36-0

I do not think Javy has the ability to call a fair catch
if he has space. Its not in his blood.
Auburn fans are like slinkys... not really good for anything but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
They need to decide who will do it next year
and that was as good an audition as any. Well, maybe a callback since he did it when Javy was out last time.
