Alabama will make its fifth appearance of the season on CBS at 1:30 p.m. CST Friday when it visits Auburn.
If you were assuming that would mean Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson in the broadcast booth, you'd be wrong.
Craig Bolerjack and Steve Beuerlein will describe the action for the network.
Sorry, but no Verne Lundquist or Gary Danielson on Friday | Tide Source

The first time...
…I remember watching a game that Bolerjack was calling, which I believe was the 2000 Orange Bowl, I quickly lost respect for him. They talked with Joe Namath, and after Namath left, Bolerjack kept referring to him as ‘Willie Joe’. Puhleeze….
And yet, this should be an enormous improvement over Orlando McCain’s buddies.

Ahh, well, why not pull this one out for old times’ sake (That’s what she said):

Speaking of retarded...
Reminds me of their banter during the Ole Miss and LSU game. (Quoted from recollection only, certainly not word for word, but you get the gist of it)
Danielson: “The question is, does LSU have confidence in Sheppard to pass out of the Wild Rebel formation?”
Lundquist: “You meant to say the Wild Tiger formation, don’t you Gary?”
Danielson: “I just call them all the Wildcat, let everyone else sort them out.”
Lundquist: [Forced chuckle while thinking to himself that Danielson may really be retarded]
actuall i kind of agree with them on this one
it’s all the same damn thing and the fact every program calls it something different is kind of stupid. you didn’t see coach bryant call the “wishbone” the “capstone” or something stupid. he called it what it was, ran the hell out of it and let everyone else sort it out.

Sure...
…but the funny part of the conversation is that Gary calls it the Wild Rebel, then says he just calls them all the Wildcat, either in a weak attempt to not look stupid, or just oblivious to what he’s even saying….

I completely agree...
And I generally just refer it to the Wildcat myself, no matter the team. My point (and the reason I found it retarded) is that Danielson said LSU was in the Wild Rebel. When Verne tried to correct, him Danielson made a completely unrelated comment about the Wildcat… likely because he had absolutely no clue what he had just said.
Not that this is anything new from them. Heck, they’ve called us Auburn in a game before. =/
