Around SBN: Phil Mickelson Outshines Tiger Woods

It's the first round of the Old Spice Classic from Orlando. They'll play Florida State or Iona tomorrow, depending upon results, but I've a feeling few will be watching that. Marquette, Xavier, Creighton, and Michigan are in the other bracket.

About to tip off...

I’ll be watching today and tomorrow if it’s on TV.

We got a nice quality win against Providence, hopefully we show up big tonight.

42-36 at the half

We look good running the full court press, that’s something I haven’t seen in a while.

Agreed

Baylor isn’t a Duke, but they’ve improved and have played well the last few years.

As I type, Florida State is beating Iona, so it’ll probably be Tide-Noles tomorrow afternoon.

Fumbles. It was always Fumbles

Saw the second half.

We definitely tried to shoot ourselves in the foot, but the fact that we didn’t hand it away is great. I will miss the game tomorrow though… Hopefully it’ll be a good day for Bama sports all around.

with gottfried at the helm....

it would have been a guaranteed choke job; assuming we actually were still in the game near the end.

Shouldn't read too much . . .

Into one game but it sure looked like a poised team with a plan on offense and swarmed on D. I sense even w/o much talent we will be a hard out this year. (Its been about 30 years since we looked like we had a plan on offense. We might just have us a coach.)

I know it's early...

But we look pretty good. Will this sort of play hold up? Probably not. I do think we’ll struggle when we play teams that have some real height down low (where we don’t currently). I like what I’ve seen thus far, but I know it’s a long season, and we’ll probably have some games that we should win but lose.
