Needing one more score to take the lead against Auburn, the Tide called a timeout and switched out of a running play and went to a senior back without a touchdown catch in his career.
''I was yelling at everybody, 'Put me in! Put me in!''' Upchurch said. ''No one was hearing me. I just had the feeling that I'd be wide open in the end zone. They changed the play.
''Patience pays off and today I've got a story to tell.''

That is awesome!
I had no idea he didn’t have a career TD. That man deserves one if anyone does. He has worked his tail off – what a reward!

Upchurch stood out in '06
Saw the LA-Monroe game, and yes it was LA-Monroe, but you could see then Upchurch had blinding quickness and loads of potential. Thank heavens he’s also committed to keep working to get to this point, when everything hasn’t been perfect for him personally.

That's a classic moment in Alabama football.
Upchurch asks to come in, and they change the play for him. He then catches the game winner vs. Auburn to cap an undefeated season. Congratulations, Roy. You, McElroy and Julio will now be associated with one of the most important drives in Alabama history. And what a call! Bring in Cody to fake the run block then pass it to the player you knew they’d wrongfully ignore. Awesome. Now to take care of the unfinished business from last year…
Unbelieveable
Roy deserves all the praise he’s going to get
I'm in no condition to drive...wait! I shouldn't listen to myself, I'm drunk.

Great performance after getting down 14-0
Out scored them 26-7 (which was lost in all of this)
Really shut them down offensively to end both halves.
Ingram’s lack of gaudy stats will probably mean he’s out of the Heisman race, but a great SEC title performance could change all that.
Tate played a respectable 1st half, but was totally shut down in the 2nd.
Mark Barron is a man. He’s really playing well.
We gotta get our heads in the game more. Those two big Auburn scores were really not Alabama football. Adams was given a big 5-6 yard cushion with only a Safety (Barron) covering him.
Fumbles. It was always Fumbles
Just wanted to stop by and offer some congratulations to you guys. A big win today for Alabama and an exciting one at that. Good luck against Florida. I am definitely rooting for the Tide in that game. Hopefully, I get this one right here, correct me if I’m wrong:

Thx and yes, you got it right
Auburn and Tennessee fans are a lot like Slinkys...neither are worth much but you do get a sense of satisfaction from pushing them down a flight of stairs
for a guy that wears capri pants without irony
you are alright.
