Ben Tate transferring to Bama???
I was watching the Ole Miss vs. Auburn game on saturday and between plays one of the announcers said that we (the fans) would be seeing Ben Tate playing at the next level. So I guess he'll be announcing his transfer to Alabama pretty soon, huh? Roll Tide!
Yea, Alabama! Drown 'em Tide!
Every 'Bama man's behind you;
Hit your stride!
Go teach the Bulldogs to behave,
Send the Yellow Jackets to a watery grave!
And if a man starts to weaken,
That's a shame!
For 'Bama's pluck and grit
Have writ her name in crimson flame!
Fight on, fight on, fight on, men!
Remember the Rose Bowl we'll win then!
Go, roll to victory,
Hit your stride,
You're Dixie's football pride, Crimson Tide!

BURN FAIL!
I like a good rippin on Auburn as much as the next guy but Ben Tate is an excellant RB. Its really too bad he’s playing for Auburn. Just like UT, FSU, Ole Miss, and Illinois…Auburn is becoming a death trap for elite talent. Honestly though, why would anyone with an ounce of talent and will to get to the NFL go to AU?

Top 5 RB in the country is a good get… but the barn has still barely cracked the top 20.

It’s a joke that would have been funny to a group of friends while watching the game but loses something (read: everything) in translation to a full-on post.

Not to toot their horn, but many a Barner have gone on to the NFL.But the draft is about to be flooded with Crimson in the next several years.

the past means nothing. Look at what AU has done recently..exactly..nothing.

I have to agree with you there.
AU is just like bama is that regard. They have done nothing recently.

ok dude
who is obviously obsessed with really old english rockers….
Last time Alabama played in BCS game: 2008…Auburn: 2004
Last time Auburn played in the SEC CG? 2004…Alabama: 2008
Last time Alabama was ranked # 1: Two weeks ago bitches..Auburn: Probably mid 90’s but a message board i found said ‘85. So we’ll go with that.
Last time Auburn had a top recruiting class: rivals wouldn’t let me go past 2002 and you guys haven’t had once since then : Alabama: 2008, 2009
Last time Alalama won a National Title: 1992..Auburn: I believe it was 1957
So again dear sir…Who has done something recently? That would be Alabama. And who had a golden opportunity to take advantage of Alabama being down and still couldn’t get a foothold in the SEC? Oh yeah thats Auburn.

Yes, Bama played in the SEC championship game in 2008. Who won? Wasn’t Bama’s last SEC title in 1999? 10 years ago.
Bama “played” in a BCS game last season. Who won?
Yes, Bama was ranked #1 for a short time this season, and last season as well. Where did they end up last season?
If there were national titles given for recruiting classes, then Bama wins 2008 and 2009, but how exactly does a recruiting ranking constitute doing anything relevant on a football field.
If 1992 is considered recent, then by all means, continue to drool over that National Championship from 18 seasons ago (that was a great team by the way).
Bama is having a great season this year, as good or better than last year. But they still have not won a championship in 10 years. So don’t act like Bama has been world beaters all this time because we both know it is not true.
You take backhanded jabs at Auburn every chance you get. Don’t get your panties in a wad if someone jabs back.

Seriously dude..
try a little harder…
Yes, Bama played in the SEC championship game in 2008. Who won? Wasn’t Bama’s last SEC title in 1999? 10 years ago. Bama "played" in a BCS game last season. Who won?
So playing in a SEC CG and a BCS game LAST year doesn’t make you relevant this year? Especially since our current team is #3 and on the verge of making that SEC CG/ BCS game two years in a row.
Yes, Bama was ranked #1 for a short time this season, and last season as well. Where did they end up last season?
We are talking about a teams relevance aren’t we? So how does being #1 THIS year not make us currently relevant ?
If 1992 is considered recent, then by all means, continue to drool over that National Championship from 18 seasons ago (that was a great team by the way).
Well its a hell of a lot more recent than AU’s…which is the argument here, right? Which team in the state is currently more relevant……and yes that was an amazing team.
Bama is having a great season this year, as good or better than last year. But they still have not won a championship in 10 years. So don’t act like Bama has been world beaters all this time because we both know it is not true.
Please tell me where i said that bama is currently “world beaters”? Any competent Bama fan will tell you the 8 years prior to Saban coming to the capstone weren’t so great..
You take backhanded jabs at Auburn every chance you get. Don’t get your panties in a wad if someone jabs back.

oh shit and i forgot this gem

Typical Barner…Yeah having elite talent on a team never produces National Titles….BTW..How many NC’s has AU won in the last say….20 years?

What has Bama won recently? Forgive me if I am wrong, but doesn’t winning championships qualify as doing something? If you consider 1999 and 1992 recent then I have my answer. But, you said Auburn has done nothing recently. So by that logic, I would assume you think 1999 and 1992 are not recent.
To answer your question, (even though you already know the answer) Auburn has not won a national title in the last 20 years.
I bet if I posed this same question to Saban, Coach Stallings or Coach Bryant, they would probably agree with me.
And I understand that this is a Bama site. But this is also a public site that anyone can join. So when you make comments like " in this conversation
the past means nothing. Look at what AU has done recently..exactly..nothing." don’t get upset if someone takes exception to it and points out the same qualities in your own school.
by Jumpn_JackFlash on Nov 4, 2009 2:10 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
"doing something" or "being relevant"
Would include winning a NC, BCS game or conference title, that is correct. But would say Texas, USC, Oklahoma, Penn State, Ohio State etc aren’t currently relevant to college football since they haven’t won a BCS title in a few years?
Doing something or being relevant isn’t just about winning….

I am just going by what you said. You said Auburn has done nothing recently. And I say that Bama has done nothing recently (which I expect will change soon because Saban has built something special).
Would you say that Arkansas did something the year they went to the SEC championship game and lost to UF? Or UTenn when they lost to LSU? I read many times where bama fans on this site criticized other fans for being happy about winning division titles, saying they didn’t really win anything. So you guys can’t have it both ways.
I am not trying to get into an argument with you. I just did not like the hypocrisy in your previous statements.
by Jumpn_JackFlash on Nov 4, 2009 2:51 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
You're not trying to argue...really?
My hypocrisy? Yes i would say they did something…Winning the west or east isn’t easy. Are they the most amazingness team evah!!! Um no…
Im pretty sure those comments you read about “we haven’t done anything yet” pertains to the fact that our team needs to keep their focus and not think they have “arrived”..
But im done with this argument. It is pointless and im tired of you. You are obviously a AU homer and If my post above didnt prove that Alabama has done something recently and is infact relevant and that AU has done little to nothing recently, then i don’t know what else to say to you.
Good day to you sir (but bammer) I said GOOD DAY!

Ok, Bammer. But you still didn’t answer the question. What has bama won recently? The only thing the post above mentions is an SEC title from 10 years ago, a National title from 18 seasons ago, 2 recruiting classes and you mention a couple of games where bama LOST (not WON but LOST).
Auburn won the SEC in 2004 and won the sugar bowl (you know, that BCS game that bama LOST), which last time I checked is more recent that 1999. Yes it was 5 years ago, but like you said above “the past means nothing.”
So, one last time, what has bama won recently?

At least you tried answer the question (even with your lame attempt to be insulting). Bammer won’t even bother. But unfortunately, regular season games do not equate to championships. Just as Bammer said above that Auburn has done “exactly..nothing” recently, well neither has Bama. Sorry to bore and frustrate you guys with an argument of facts.
by Jumpn_JackFlash on Nov 4, 2009 6:16 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Think of it like stock.
Would you rather invest in Alabama or Auburn right now? It’s also just a bad time to be making your argument considering Alabama is 8-0 and in the BCS hunt while Auburn is revelling in the little things (like beating Ole Miss).
Yes Alabama is gunning for championships, but you are trying to equate the standing of Alabama and Auburn when Alabama played in championship games and lost while Auburn’s 2008 season ended in early December.
12-2 and 5-7 simply do not equate.

Interesting statement above...
It seems that you might be surprised by this, but Auburn was founded as an engineering, agriculture, and mechanics school. You referred to us as ‘Barners’ yourself (which I take as a complement). After all, we are a federal land grant university while Bama is not. We do math pretty well.

no kid you're just being an idiot
I have already stated my position that “winning a NC or BCS game” doesn’t = being relevant or doing something of late. Again and i swear for the last time…If you can’t see (even through your obvious barner painted glasses) that Alabama has accomplished a hell of a lot, especially considering how bad the last 8 years were to us, then talking to you is a complete waste of my time. I should have known this from the start, being that you are a barner and just by that fact alone means you are a complete waste of space…
Can’t believe i wasted a perfectly good “That 70’s Show” reference on you…It will never happen again.
