Kirby Smart to FSU?
As some of you may know im currently living in Tallahassee, fl. The home of the Seminoles. There has been some talk around town that Kirby Smart might replace Mickey Andrews as DC next year. Has anyone else, outside of Tally, heard the same rumors?

Kirby Smart
I think there is a lot of talk about Kirby Smart going to several schools. The ones that you hear the most about are FSU and UGA. He has been extremely effective since he has taken over as full-time defensive coordinator. Both would be good schools, but they are also rebuilding projects that could take a few years to get right.
I think more importantly Kirby Smart is almost certainly going to be a head coach sooner or later. I would think the fastest way to be head coach would be to stay at Alabama for another season or two, and then take a head coaching job elsewhere. No matter what Kirby Smart does he has a lot of options, and a very bright future ahead.

I
agree with your line of thinking. Even though Saban gets a lot of cred for the defense, no doubt Smart plays a big role. And if he were to take on a rebuilding project, he could lose some of his shine if things prove to be difficult initially. And not to mention it would be somewhat of a lateral move anyway.

I doubt Kirby leaves to head to the mess that is FSU
I think that program will be a total disaster once Bowden leaves. How can a coach that has been there for several years then install his system, when he is already known to run the Bowden system of coaching, recruiting, etc. I is going to make it very difficult to come in and make a splash and draw a clear line btwn the Fisher era and Bowden era. Surely Smart doesn’t want to get into that situation when he can stay at Bama a few more yrs and go straight to the top.

Let's forward this to Finebaum. He loves this kind of crap
It may be true but at this point it is pure speculation, probably started by some drunk in a sports bar in Tallahassee. Bama-LSU coming up this weekend and all he can talk about is speculative coaching changes… ie.. Les Miles to Michigan

Damn that sucks.
Losing McElwain to New Orleans last year was bad enough!
