The defense is there.
Stats can tell part of the story:
Consider that LSU went three-and-out on six of its 11 possessions.
Consider that the TiĀgers were held to 9 yards on 11 plays in a fourth quarter in which they were outĀscored 14-0.

Now that is how you play defense.

hate to be a
Debbie downer but…
It helps when Jefferson and Scott are out too.

It's not like
Jefferson and Scott just decided to quit and not play…BAMA’s D had a lot to do with the fact that they were out of the game. That’s what Saban means when he talks about making the guys your playing against quit… BAMA actually beat up on lsu in every way.

I'm not sure...
…you can consider someone with a broken collarbone as being part of a mentality of “making the guys your [sic] playing against quit.” Charles Scott had no say in the matter. It was an accident and one that’s ended his season. That’s not quitting, that’s bad luck.

True
But how many LSU fans were bragging about that Shepperd kid at RB?
Plus Jarrett Lee isn’t a top QB, but he is an experienced starter.
Fumbles. It was always Fumbles

Jarrett Lee...
did not lose the game for LSU but when his big moment came he seemed awfully unsure of himself which makes me wonder just how many reps he has been getting from the coaching staff this season.
We're gonna chase those crazy baldheads out of town.

agreed on charles scott in particular
he tore us up last year, and was looking like he was just getting warm, kinda like ingram. and i think them having Lee in a QB really affected their play calling, so yeah those injuries were huge and the game may have turned out differently had they not been out.
i think if we had finished our drives and scored inthe first half, then it wouldn’t have mattered if LSU sustained no injuries, but we kinda screwed the pooch for the first 30 minutes offensively and it could have cost us the game. I’m glad we get three weeks of cupcakes to get our O back in top gear before our next real game.

It's even
if you consider we played them one season starting a third string quarterback (and without nearly half of our starting offense), and the next without our star Wide Receiver (’04 and ’05).
PS: ROLL TIDE!!

Hells Bells...
…we played them in 2007 with our 54th string RB….
