Auburn gets a suprisingly good bowl.
I'm shocked....The Outback Bowl? How the hell do they get this invitation?

But wait...
… I thought the SEC Office was controlled by the REC? Why would they do Auburn a favor like this?
In all seriousness, though, it really just goes to show you how things have changed the past couple of decades. Five loss teams used to not even make bowls, now they make New Year’s Day bowls.

I'm actually glad for them
they improved a lot and played hard. Their fans deserve something nice, and this is a good reward for hard work.

Yes
They deserve to have to wake up at sunrise on New Year’s Day to go to a football game.

They
also deserve to watch us play for yet another SEC title and national title while they are polishing their Outback Bowl Trophy.

First of all...
since when is the Outback Bowl a great bowl game (Is there an Outback Bowl Trophy? If so, what is it, a bronze “Bloomin’ Onion”?)?
Secondly, who said they would beat Wisconsin?
I never said it was a "great" bowl...
I said it was a good bowl. It’s a well respected New Years Day bowl and a hell of a lot better then the Independence and Music City Bowls that they were being predicted by most to go to.

I
think Coach Stallings’ last game was the Outback Bowl in ’95. Take that Meeeeshigan.

I will concede the "better than the other bowls that suck" part.
However, they don’t have a great track record against the big, slow, unexciting Big 10 teams. It will be interesting to see how they fare this time around.
By the way, I heard that someone on the Outback Bowl committee was a Florida alum and didn’t want UT in the game.
I'm totally shocked.
What did Auburn do to deserve such a bowl? Let’s see they beat Bama, nope. Ok, they beat UGA, nope. Ok, they beat LSU, nope.
Wait a minute they were 5-2 to finish out the season. Nope, they were 2-5.
I guess the only thing you can really point to, the only they have really done since OCT. 4th, was to beat Ole Miss.
Auburn is a strange tale this year. You start out 5-0 against some weak teams, although UT did get better after they played you. Then, when you become ranked, you proceed to go 2-5 through the real heart of your schedule. Your one win or any substance was against Ole Miss who had yet to discover they had a tailback. You conclude by losing to your 2 biggest rivals.
Then, you sit back and get invited to the 3rd best bowl your conference plays in (I’d rank it ahead of Cotton for both players and fans.)
Wow, that is the way to build a program. Lose your way to a good bowl.
I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.
who gives a shit?!
we are on our way to a possible NC and a 2nd BCS game in a row. Auburn can have the piece of shit Out Back Bowl…

Auburn Iron Bowl T-shirt
I saw Auburn’s Iron bowl t-shirt today and it says, “2009 Iron Bowl, We Stopped Mike Ingram, 21-26!”
Well, didn't the Gator's just bowl them over last weekend?
