Week Fifteen Open Thread
Obviously there's not much going on in the college football world today in terms of actual competition. Nevertheless, Army v. Navy kicks off here in just a few minutes, and you can also catch the Alabama v. Mississippi All-Star Game right now being broadcast nationally on Versus, plus of course the Heisman presentation is coming on later tonight. And am I the only one who DVR'd the ESPN show about the "The U" tonight? Anyway, chime in with your thoughts here on whatever is going on today.

Two questions...
Two questions for the people who know more about the Army v. Navy game than I do:
(1) What in the hell did Navy do to their uniforms?
(2) Does the fact that Army v. Navy game get so much hype piss off Air Force?

pluckNgrit dates an Air Force graduate
and he said they it doesn’t bother them since the Acadamy wasn’t established until 1954 and the Army-Navy rivalry has obviously gone on MUCH longer.

Verne and Gary calling the game today...
… what is the over / under on the number of Tebow references?

ugh…those Navy uni’s remind me of a member’s only windbreaker I had as a kid, or maybe it was Osh Kosh b’gosh, I dunno. Gary’s gonna be wandering lost thru the desert without his savior to guide him, and Verne, well, he’s just gonna load up on cheap scotch in memoriam

I missed that one
And the Baltimore Colts one about their band, which both were apparently real good. The only one I’ve seen that wasn’t that great was the one about Len Bias. It just seemed like old news to me.

Quick! Someone tell Saban
that Texas beat us last year.
You play fast, you play strong, you go out there and dominate the guy you play against, and make his ass quit! That's our trademark, that's our MO as a team, aight, that's what people know us as! - Nick Saban, 2008
damn Comcast pirated Vs away from directv

Jarrick Williams...
… has had a lot of big hits, and Nick Perry has had a couple too. Milliner had a long return, and just dropped an interception that he could have likely taken to the house.
Honestly, there’s not a lot going on. The weather and the short preparation has pretty much meant that nothing is happening.

does Williams
remind you of Rod Woodson?

Kind of...
… I think they are very similar players in terms of physical build and capabilities.
I tell you, though, I don’t know if Williams can hit like Woodson. If you watch Woodson’s highlights from Olive Branch, it’s like watching a collection of head-on freight train collisions.

Woodson can definitely play the run
I just don’t know yet if he has the hands to play the pass

I'm watching now...
… and it’s good stuff. Honestly a much better game than anything we’ve seen out of Army v. Navy the past few years, and probably featuring better players to boot.

Two answers for two questons
(1) The Navy uniform changes represented the Marine Corps (red stripes).
(2) The Air Force is the youngest of the services, so is sometimes treated like that little brother.

I DVR'd
the SEC Championship Game -- have watched it two or three time since Saturday! I’m just that happy. And…if our Christmas party becomes boring tonight I may break out the ole game for my Texas friends to appreciate. By the way, you would not believe the Aggies who HATE Texas…and want Bama shirts for the game! I may be able to last the next 4 1/2 years here after all.
I don’t want a Tide shirt but I’d love to see y’all hang half a hundred on them.
