Alabama vs #5 Purdue Open Thread

Grantanthony_medium

Lets double dip in victory after Mark took home the big hardware.  Alabama plays host to the #5 Purdue Boilermakers at Coleman, ESPN2.  Alabama goes for the second top 25 upset of the year after dropping then ranked #15 Michigan 68-66.

9:00 PM ET, December 12, 2009 Coleman Coliseum Tuscaloosa, AL

Let's see if Alabama Men's Basketball Coach Anthony Grant can keep our guys playing above themselves and push the Boilermakers to the brink.

I'm with you

Not since plaid blazers roamed the sideline have I see our team play with passion, something I think nearly all of Mark’s teams seemed to lack.

Missed 3pt shot

Would have been huge at the end of the half – being up 40-28 could have really sent a message

With the lack of depth

I hope they can keep the pressure on. It is relly throwing Purdue totally off.

Been the issue all season – can’t get too far behind because playing with speed and intensity will kill us without depth.

Really

we outhustled ourselves. But the positive is to see that our guys are buying into Grant’s style. We’ve just got to get the depth on the bench and quality players to pull it off for an entire game.

Long and short of it ......

Coach is pushing this team to play very hard and fast. They just ran out of gas mid-second and the pace slowed markedly. One needs a deep bench to play this style and we haven’t got it right now. As we got tired, the mistakes came. This style of play won’t work against opponents with deep benches.
On a positive note, It sure didn’t look like a Godfried team.
