Alabama vs #5 Purdue Open Thread
Lets double dip in victory after Mark took home the big hardware. Alabama plays host to the #5 Purdue Boilermakers at Coleman, ESPN2. Alabama goes for the second top 25 upset of the year after dropping then ranked #15 Michigan 68-66.
9:00 PM ET, December 12, 2009 Coleman Coliseum Tuscaloosa, AL
Let's see if Alabama Men's Basketball Coach Anthony Grant can keep our guys playing above themselves and push the Boilermakers to the brink.

i really like what Grants doing with this team..
Auburn fans are like slinkys not really good for anything but can stil bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs
I'm with you
Not since plaid blazers roamed the sideline have I see our team play with passion, something I think nearly all of Mark’s teams seemed to lack.
Missed 3pt shot
Would have been huge at the end of the half – being up 40-28 could have really sent a message
With the lack of depth
I hope they can keep the pressure on. It is relly throwing Purdue totally off.

why is nobody follwing this game?
I was out of the house, and I just got finished watching Ingram win the Heisman and here we are, up 16. Roll Tide!

Hummel long two, 55-49. Under 10:00
Hillman misses,

Bad call,
Sillman got called for a reach, but I think the Purdue guard just slipped, 6 team fouls.

Purdue misses a 3
but gets the putback, 64-61

That’ll just about do it as Grant calls timeout.
Great effort by our guys tonight
Would have been a great story “Tide wins the night”, hopefully our men can stay fresh and pull off another upset this season

Long and short of it ......
Coach is pushing this team to play very hard and fast. They just ran out of gas mid-second and the pace slowed markedly. One needs a deep bench to play this style and we haven’t got it right now. As we got tired, the mistakes came. This style of play won’t work against opponents with deep benches.
On a positive note, It sure didn’t look like a Godfried team.
