Mark Ingram shows his passion, faith in Heisman triumph
Alabama sophomore running back Mark Ingram capped off a whirlwind week Saturday which started with the seeming pinnacle of his young career and ended with college football most coveted prize.
In winning the 2009 Heisman Trophy, Ingram showed his passion and love for the game with the pursuit of gridiron excellence which served him well on the field and in his Christian walk.
“First and foremost I want to thank God,” Ingram said among tears of joy after winning the closest race in the award’s 75-year history. “Without him I would not be able to accomplish this.”

Absolutely agree
Almost made me cry to see how excited he was that he won. Very humble. I hope the Heisman jinx doesn’t follow him to Pasadena!
Congrats
Every interview I’ve seen him in, he’s been very classy and a good representative of your university. I have nothing but respect for Ingram. Wish I could have seen his speech. Guess I’ll have to look for it on youtube or something.
All those past greats at Bama. It’s VERY hard to believe Ingram is the first Heisman winner.
The Show..
will be on ESPN again after Sportscenter if you want to check it out!

the force is strong in that one.
What you're seeing is team spirit. It's like the Holy Spirit, but more powerful.

trent was watching that ceremony and salivating…
and sorry to be picky, but the dude just won the Heisman – please show him the respect of spelling his name correctly

Coach Nick Saban
Ingram is what
Alabama football is all about.
I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.
I'm amazed with how our coaching staff has shaped
<5 star recruits and even walk-ons (at least one particular walk-on safety)

How true.
I have come to believe that Saban and Alabama have recruited not so much on pure talent, but by the internal fire, coachability, and attitude of their prospective players.
A player with a strong belief system and familial support effectively keeps himself out of trouble off the field and in today’s world, that’s really half the battle.
I teared up just as hard the second time I watched Sir Mark’s acceptance speech. What a magical year so far for the Crimson Tide!
RTR!
I live in Utah but HATE the Utes! Roll TIDE, Roll!
Ingram was actually a 3 star recruit
If you check rivals now, he is listed as a 4 star. But as I, and I’m sure other ’Bama fans, remember, he was a 3 star. Rivals will do this when they miss big time talent like Ingram.

yeap, I noticed that also. I think it was changed sometime between the Va Tech game and Arkansas.
But your right it was changed to save face. Even ESPNU 150 had Mark at a 3-star. But following suit he’s now a 4-star there also.
Your temper brings dishonor to my happy mooshu palace.
Another example is Chris Douglas-Roberts from Memphis
He was a 3 star on rivals and is now a 4 star. I only know that because I’m from Memphis, not because I’m a tigre basketball fan…
