Junior college defensive lineman Brandon Lewis plans to re-sign with Alabama this week and enroll for the start of spring semester, according to Buddy Stephens, Lewis' coach at East Mississippi Community College.
Linebacker Devonta Bolton, Lewis' junior college teammate and a fellow 2008 Alabama signee, is not expected to re-sign for spring semester, Stephens said.
Reasons are tied to academics, and it's unclear if Alabama will ultimately choose to re-sign the linebacker from Norcross, Ga. Bolton has played one season at EMCC and has three years of remaining eligibility.
Gentry Estes: JUCO prospect Brandon Lewis set to re-sign with Alabama for spring drills
To answer the question that has been lingering for almost two years now, it seems like Brandon Lewis will indeed re-sign with the Tide and enroll in the next couple of weeks. For Devonta Bolton, however, he won't be here until the summer at the earliest, and I'm afraid that probably means that he won't end up at Alabama. Perhaps not, of course, but at the very least I do think it significantly lowers the chances that he ends up in Tuscaloosa, relative to what they would have been had he been able to graduate early.

Man
I have been looking forward to Bolton coming to Bama since he signed in 2008. It sucks he probably won’t make it now. He would have been a beast at linebacker for us. Brandon Lewis will be a good player for us though.
This upcoming season I'm gonna refer to Julio Jones as "The Magic Man" and Trent Richardson as "El Diablo"
