Dag Yo! no luck sold out by 10:04 when my browser finally reloaded.

Guess I will be looking for a BCSCG party to go to in the dirty Ham instead.

Took me three minutes...

…to even be able to get on the page. That’s probably the biggest strain I’ve ever seen on TM.

F Ticket Master

Auburn fans are like slinkys... not really good for anything but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Agreed

Agreed. Thankfully, there’s still plenty of deals out there, but you have to shop around.

I found this helpful website when I was looking around for tickets to the game:
BCS National Championship Game Tickets

I liked them because you can compare ticket deals from all of the trusted vendors through them.

I will be interested

to see how many people on BOL say they actually got tickets through Ticketmaster. I would guess 90% of those who got tickets have no interest in the two teams playing.

I hate Ticketmaster too...

…but this wasn’t there fault. I blame this more on the organizing committee for the game.

I was ready to go right at 11 .....

15 minutes later……the page uploads….

Anyone get any?

Did anyone actually get any? I got through at 10:01, and no luck. I tried the pre-sale yesterday, and I had the same results. That whole process sucked. They must’ve had about 4 tickets on sale.

by thebert99 on Dec 15, 2009 10:22 AM CST reply actions

They had 2000 tickets* on sale.
  • less the presale tickets yesterday which was probably some where between 200-500 tickets.

Probably had a better chance to get Beatles reunion tickets than these tickets.

my wife got 2

We had 7 people trying for us and my wife was the only one with success…

The page loaded for me in less than a minute, but still said no matches found. To only have 2,000 tickets available through ticketmaster makes it like winning good money on a scratch card at a gas station.

by atcrawford on Dec 15, 2009 11:01 AM CST up reply actions

So close

My wife got through over the phone about 9:45, and she talked to someone about 10:10, and they said they had just sold out. I’m taking that to mean they sold out right at 10, because if the person before her got the last ones, then I might go postal.

I talked to someone there yesterday, and she said they only had 90 for the sale today.

eBay, here I come…

by bobthemonkey on Dec 15, 2009 10:28 AM CST reply actions

That sucked...

My page refreshed at 10:01, and it still said they were unavailible. I tried about 20 times (no joke) after that for about 5 minutes and no luck. I want a damn ticket!

by LTHL VNM on Dec 15, 2009 10:30 AM CST reply actions

Funny how

….no one can get a ticket, but the ticket brokers will have hundreds for sell…..

by akbrown15 on Dec 15, 2009 10:30 AM CST reply actions

I was able to buy one ( on the bama side)

and I was able to get to another ticket but didnt buy it.

by Roll-Tyde on Dec 15, 2009 10:39 AM CST reply actions

I'm hoping you are joking

Because if you had the chance to buy 1 and didn’t, considering you could turn right around and sell if for $900 without even trying, that was just stupid.

by tide96 on Dec 15, 2009 11:27 AM CST up reply actions

I had the page up searching for tickets at 11:00am sharp. Still didn’t get tickets.

by brandonh on Dec 15, 2009 11:04 AM CST reply actions

Somehow we got two!!!

from Ticketmaster. Does anyone know which side is the Bama side?

by Queen of the Universe on Dec 15, 2009 11:29 AM CST reply actions

My understanding is

sections 12-18, so I would sit anywhere on that side of field. If you can find out from a student or faculty member what section their ticket is in, that would tell you for sure.

by BamaGirlinDallas on Dec 15, 2009 12:07 PM CST up reply actions

thanks...

they’re in sec. 24. I guess it doesn’t matter, I’ll sit in the middle of all the Texas fans in the world and still represent for Bama.

Now I just have to beat out all the Texas fans I work with in the “who wants to go to the game the most” contest…

by Queen of the Universe on Dec 15, 2009 12:37 PM CST up reply actions

That doesn't...

…necessarily mean you’re sitting among Texas fans. If we only got six sections, then they only got six sections and it’ll be a whole lot of intermixed and/or neutrals otherwise.

I'm a student but I have to pick up my ticket at will-call

The ticket I get depends on when I pick it up (so students who want can get seats together I guess). So I have no idea where I’ll be

I logged on at 10:00

and by the time I got through at 10:01, I clicked on the $275 ticket and the frigging things were gone by the time I got to the checkout page.

I live 40 minutes from the Rose Bowl, but we just moved into a new house and I’m having surgery two weeks before the game so it was a longshot to begin with. If I could have purchased a couple seats for $275 I would have sucked it up. Now, I’ll watch it on the television.

MATRIX: Bennett, I thought you were--

BENNETT: Dead? You thought wrong. Ever since you had me thrown out of the unit, I've been waiting to pay you back. Do you know what today is, Matrix? Payday.

They sold like 4000 tickets to pasadena residents on dec 5th.

You just had to be at the box office with a cali license. Not sure if had to say pasadena on it as your addy. But this is just salt in the wounds. Sorry bro. Hope the surgery goes well.

I really wanted to go very badly but even with face value tickets it woulda been a struggle (financially). I did find a friend who is going to sell me his student ticket to all the games next season. I totally forgot that he was in law school at bama and could get a student ticket. He is not a sports fan.

It is encouraing to me

to hear that some people actually got through because I was wondering if they had all gone the day before.

And how did the people who got to buy early, get to buy early anyway?

I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

by Nico2.0 on Dec 15, 2009 11:27 PM CST up reply actions

Our story...

As an avid Alabama fan, my husband and I were extremely excited to find out that we could purchase tickets to the game through ticketmaster.com or 213-365-5675 for $275 at 8:00AM PST on December 15th. So that morning we both were on the phone and online trying to order tickets beginning 30 minutes prior to them going on sale. At 10:02 when my inquiry for 2 tickets went through, there were no tickets available. We continued to try and to call for four hours until we finally got through to a Ticketmaster agent who informed us that a “sports club” purchased every ticket the day before! Ticketmaster.com had stated that there is a strict limit of 2 tickets per person/4 tickets per household. Now the “sports club” that was allowed to purchase the tickets is probably going to sell each ticket for upwards of $900 each which will prevent us from even having the opportunity to experience this event.
