Clay Travis is at it again
I'm surprised this guy still has a job. The Ingram rant is expected, but I'm curious what yall think of some of the ideas he lists?

I started reading his book DixieLand Delight and quit reading it
cause of all these douchie articles. He really is a egomaniac and a total prick. I use to find some of his stuff funny but sheesh I have a hard time reading anything from such a huge slUT fan.

regarding voting procedure, ranking 1st-3rd
They do that to remove the homerism that is evident when people like FightinGaters.net have a vote. This way the legit Heisman contenders still get votes when people vote their favorite team’s player first every year.
Travis mentions something about the true homers going a step farther and actually voting for people that are guaranteed to lose to avoid giving more points to a competitor of their favorite player. This is blatantly taking advantage of the system and I can only hope that if this does happen that it is extremely rare.
Also, regarding making all ballots public
This would be the worst possible thing that could happen to Heisman voting, in my opinion. This would vastly increase the power that mainstream media outlets had in determining the winner because most, if not all, of the voters would consult these outlets to see who they expect everyone to vote for. Most people don’t like sticking their neck out there and they certainly won’t want to be forced to defend their pick if it isn’t mainstream.
While I agree that in theory all of the voters should say who they voted for and be willing to defend the pick, many (or perhaps most) of the voters would take the easy road and just vote for the mainstream candidates. So if ESPN says a player is leading the Heisman hunt then that’s who will get the votes of the people that don’t want to defend themselvers.
Clay Travis is an ass clown.

like I said,
it wasn’t as much about him as trying to facilitate discussion about ideas to reform Heisman voting

He’s just an angry little man. He figured out that the team he pulls for has a douche of a coach and will be butt of every SEC joke for years to come. So the only thing he has going for him is that he is in fact an ass clown as Zoltar said..Actually, i think a standard rule for RBR should be to refer to him as Ass Clown….Why? cause he writes dumb as shit like this…
Mark Ingram is the worst running back to win the Heisman trophy in 30 years.
How the f do you know that Ass Clown? Oh right, you’re an Ass Clown…you don’t know. In fact, the Heisman isn’t suppose to be about stats. If it were about stats, a Hawaii or Texas Tech QB would win it every year…so yeah..you’re theory has no merit….
So I’m with Stu on this one. If its written by Ass Clown, then lets pass it up and move on to things that we care about…

I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.
