USC tailback Joe McKnight has been driving a 2006 Land Rover owned by a Santa Monica, Calif., businessman, the Los Angeles Times reported on Friday.

The Times reported McKnight has been seen driving the SUV, which the California Department of Motor Vehicles says is registered to Scott Schenter.

Schenter, 47, works in marketing and owns a company that registered a Web site called 4joemcknight.com, according to the newspaper.

Shocking!

"The goal is to be a champion," Saban said. "I didn’t say to win a championship. I just said be a champion. That’s our goal here. That’s what we want to do."- Nick Saban

USC is

about to take a great fall soon it seems like. On the other hand this could get swept under the rug so who know.

This upcoming season I'm gonna refer to Julio Jones as "The Magic Man" and Trent Richardson as "El Diablo"

What else does the NCAA need to act on USC? Jesus, it’s like they could flash the players’ payroll accounts in front of the NCAA’s faces with no consequences.

I am completely shocked...

…by this report. I only hope the NCAA will show them the same leniency they gave us @ 2001….

why USC will fall

when USC is no longer a good team (this year), and falls from the perch they’ve been sitting on top of, they will get hammered. if you hate USC get ready to enjoy yourselves

Nothing will happen to USC

as long as PC is their coach. You see he is a star, pure Hollywood. The NCAA loves Hollywood and they will not touch the golden boy.

By the way nothing is going to happen to UT either. Have you seen Kiffin’s wife? She is hot. No way the NCAA does anything to Mrs. Kiffin’s man.

I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

UPDATE

And I call BULLSHIT:

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4758848

In e-mails to the Los Angeles Times and Los Angeles Daily News, Scott Schenter, a Santa Monica, Calif., businessman, said the car is driven by Johana Michelle Beltran — McKnight’s girlfriend — and that he helped purchase the Land Rover because Beltran’s family had trouble qualifying for a loan.

Schenter said a company he founded in May 2008, USC Marketing, stood for for “United States China Marketing,” and that despite being an employee for the Los Angeles County’s Assessor’s office, he would “rather be known for my expertise in marketing and finance ventures.”

Emphasis mine. Come on, if the NCAA has absolutely no interest in being patronized, regardless of perceived biasness, this will anger it even more. No freakin’ way that is true. NONE.

You play fast, you play strong, you go out there and dominate the guy you play against, and make his ass quit! That's our trademark, that's our MO as a team, aight, that's what people know us as! - Nick Saban, 2008
