MBB: Tide rallies in second half to beat North Florida,73-51
Of course, rallying to beat North Florida is hardly something to brag about. I didn't even know there was a North Florida. (They are the "Ospreys", FWIW.) The Tide trailed 31-30 at the half, but outscored their opponents 43-20 in the second.
Tony Mitchell led the way with 17 points and seven rebounds, as JaMychal Green had a subpar game (7-5, and scoreless in the first half). Mikhail Torrance added 15, and Charvez Davis scored ten. The Tide won the rebounding battle, 40-30, and held UNF to 38 percent shooting.

They’re also coming off what I must imagine has been a pretty exhausting week. Travel two Orlando, play three tough games that required full effort, then travel back to ttown for another game. I can certainly see a sluggish start being a product of overlooking the opponent, and thinking you can rest up and coast through the game.
Not that i’m saying I disagree, far from it. I’m just saying there were external factors as well.

teams from the east
Vandy, Tennessee, and Florida at home.
Kentucky, South Carolina, and Georgia on the road.
My prediction is 9-7, but I’m a perpetual optimist (read: homer) when it comes to bama basketball.
i believe north florida
is in jacksonville. due to the ‘bright futures’ tuition supplement for florida high school graduates that make the grade, enrollment at florida universities is staggering. ucf benefited from the 1st wave of recipients (since fl and fl state we already huge), usf the 2nd and now unf. even the college in my neck of the woods has gone from being okaloosa-walton community college to okaloosa walton college to northwest florida state university in the past several years and now offers several 4-yr degree programs.
