Around SBN: NFL Week One: Previews and Predictions for all 15 games

Our friend Peter Bean over at Burnt Orange Nation is going to re-watch the SECCG game tomorrow - Wed. 12/23 - starting at 11 a.m. CST. Why might we care? Because he plans to post his observations about the game on BON as he watches the replay.

So if you got a a copy of the game handy and little extra time tomorrow, why not join in and see what a football-savvy Longhorn has to say about the contest?

That'll make 9

9 times that I’ve watched the SECCG since Dec. 5. Haha. Everytime I watch I’m amazed at PJ’s tackle. What an important play!

So, what you're saying is...

BON is going to try and predict what the mastermind Saban is going to do?

Against Auburn, first play was in the wildcat formation..

Against Florida, first play was the spread…

Ahhh……Good Luck BON, Saban’s likely to come out in the wishbone with all three backs in. They’ll be tackling shadows.

no

peter bean is going to watch the game and post his impressions about it. i doubt he’s going to try and scry the tea leaves for a hidden weapon to defeat our dread lord and master. it ain’t his style, for one.

remember, texas fans have probably only seen one or two alabama games and aren’t likely to have really given any of them detailed analysis. but, i expect, it will be of interest to us because we are not likely to have seen but a few texas games for the same reason. i am very interested in hearing what someone very familiar with the longhorns has to say about the SECCG.

and, besides, it’s an excuse to watch the game again.

I’m betting there will be a lot of..“Florida isn’t focused”, “Florida is moving the ball at will against the Bama defense but keeps shooting themselves in the foot’ and the kicker..”Bama’s D is overrated and we should have no problem scoring because Colt is 1000 times better tha Tebow and Bama has never seen anything like the individual and team speed that Texas has after being forged in the fires of Big 12 play."

Ah well then..allow me to pull my foot from my mouth. My apologies. I’m having an ongoing war with a Texas fan at work. No matter how I speak of the game his only reply is..“Texas is gonna kill you rednecks!!!!!!” I won’t lie. It’s gotten to me. Looking forward to his report.

i've spent a lot of time around a rabid razorback fan lately

i don’t understand it, under no circumstances could i cheer on oklahoma
but she is right on the alabama bandwagon for this game
i think it’s a toss up, and i can’t wait till the game

You'll have to excuse those Arkansas fans

They have no real rivals here in the SEC.

They’ve done well to drum up some good hate for LSU, and it’s easy for everyone to hate Auburn.

I watched the Big12CG last night. It was a dandy. I just hope their OL prepares for us like they did for Suh.

The only reason McCoy is being built up....

is because he’s ESPN’s and Herbstreet’s new “Wonderboy”. If you listen real close you can hear some of Colt’s air seeping out.

He really shouldn't watch it...

Just the sight of our defense might make him ball up in the corner and cry uncontrollably..

"The goal is to be a champion," Saban said. "I didn’t say to win a championship. I just said be a champion. That’s our goal here. That’s what we want to do."- Nick Saban

The funniest thing about his observations

is that 1) our defense isn’t formidable, and 2) that we will be playing the zone a la the SECCG.

Saban is a blitz/press guy. Didn’t have to do that against Tebow…just throw 7-8 back in coverage and count on him to try and be a passer…which he can’t. Expect far more of the crazy blitzes against McCoy and that pitiful offensive line.

Second, anyone that thinks that our defensive line isn’t that formidable, or thinks that our LB corps is a weakness can go ahead and guess themselves right into a three td beating.
