Around SBN: Preakness 2012: I'll Have Another Wins Again

Our O-Line, Green but good.

Eerlier I was browsing over at BON and saw a thread about their o-line. Seem that they have 3 seniors and 2 juniors but still they feel that they are their weakest link. With all the 4&5 star players they've recruited over the past several years , why would this be the weak link. Almost like some of them are glad they are graduating.
Last year we lost three great linemen who were great with the push although struggled to some extent in pass protection. All in all were a really good line.
This year we came in with a couple returning starters. We brought in one juco player and bam, seems we have a good line again (but still struggle at times with pass protection).
My question to you guys is, " Is it our S$C coach, O-Line coach, or a combo that makes them a champion caliber line? Are our backs so good they make them look better? I mean we have two 5 star recruits sitting out in lieu of improvement.
Were these guys this great and just weren't noticed before now? Before the season most of us Questioned this group but they have definitely rison to the occasion.I know we'll lose a leader in Johnson next year but shouldn't we even expect it to be a better unit next year?

Tried to make this a fanshot but could someone please tell me how and where to find an image  I tried to copy the old RBR logo and it wouldn't let me paste it in the box. I know, I'm showing my illiteracy.

and I use Bing Images. It’s hard to find an image to portray your message exactly. Our authors claim images in threads slow down the feed, but you know what they say about a picture (a thousand words) and I don’t type that fast.

As far as high recruits not playing this year, I feel Saban knows best how to see the team’s evolution and IMO Saban feels if they transfer, they’re not about TEAM or whats best for this team. I like his recent comment about Leach’s dismissal, if they don’t work in our system we’ll find a way to make them not a part of our organization.

I’m still waiting to see Fluker in some place other than the sidelines.

Thanks for icon advice

What about Tyler Love? I think he had some injury issues early but he was a 5* at Rivals.
Did they just miss it or does it take some players more time to develop?

A ton of great players fly under the radar for reasons like...

they transfered in their Junior/Senior years and didn’t get a chance at impressing recruiters. Or they are simply playing out of position. Some get injured in their junior season and don’t get the recruiting push needed to be a 4 or 5-star. Somehow coaches see the potential that stars dont portray. We all know Ingy was a three star. Donta Hightower was a three star, and Javey wasn’t even found on recruiting boards. You have to think a 5-star ranking would mean big things and most of the time it pans out. But never under estimate evaluations of coaches who watch the film a High School coach sends out. I also think Saban has a God given gift for finding good players and tranforming them into great players.

Coach Pendry is a fantastic Line coach. He is part of the reason for our recent success. Scott Cochran does a fantastic job of conditioning our players. Whenever I watch Bama play I notice the size of the arms and legs of our players. Very few teams we’ve played look as strong in these areas. Look at how little AJ Green’s arms and legs look. Sabans Bama teams are the strongest Bama teams I’ve ever seen in my years as a Bama fan! This has a lot to do with his teams lack of injury. maybe Georgia should take note.

Your temper brings dishonor to my happy mooshu palace.
