Let me remind you of this post from our very own Bamagrad

Here is the post.

I still know a couple people inside of the program and one of them told me that last year, after Florida won, Saban gathered the team in the locker room. He said, "We fought hard and came up a little short, but I can promise you one thing, we’re not going to lose to those motherfuckers again!"

by Nico2.0 on Dec 5, 2009 7:02 PM CST reply actions   1 recs

They said he went to work on Florida fanatically

and it showed.

Congrats to Florida. They played with a bullseye on their back the entire year and they are a MONSTER of a program. Saban and Co. put together a great gameplan and our players played the best game a University of Alabama team has played in a long time, probably since the Miami game in ‘92/’93.

Congrats to Tebow and Florida. They won 2 National Championships in four years. Three SEC Eastern Division championships. Tebow won a Heisman. They’ll be back. Congrats to them on a fine season.

And Congratulations to the SEC champions, our very own Alabama Crimson Tide. I am proud to be an alum and a one-time player. They did a fantastic job. For some reason this team, when they TURN IT ON, has the ability to absolutely bang on people like no team I have ever seen before. I saw it against Virginia Tech. I saw it against LSU. And I saw it again today against the best team in the country (at the beginning of the day). Congratulations and YESSSS!

Remember, we’ve played our best games against Virginia Tech, LSU, and Florida because we spread the ball out, and because our guys turned it up a notch. It really seems like we have the ability to rise up and just bang on an opponent until they’re beaten.

I tell you...

I tell you guys and gals, I’ve followed my Tide with every fiber of my being since I was old enough to know what it was. I was in the Superdome on January 1st, 1993 as a kid, and I have lived and died with my Tide every single second since then, just hoping that we could get back to that level. And, really, it’s been so much pain and misery.

And now, 17 years later, here we are. We’re going to Pasadena and we’re going to play for the national championship. I’m not trying to channel my inner Tebow here, but I honestly just want to sit down and cry.

I tell you, folks, if I died right now you could write on the tombstone that I died a happy man.

espn had him at 2

With ESPN pulling for him, its no doubt his. With Tebow going down with a thud, Colt already has 2 INT’s, Stanford is done…all this adds to Ingram winning.for better or for worse.

Q: You could win the Heisman Trophy next week. Has that sunk in?
MI: It would mean a lot to Alabama; the coaches, the players, the fans, the state. I’d be happy to do that for them. You dream of that stuff when you’re little. I saw Reggie Bush win it; I saw Ricky Williams win it. The fact that it might be reality is a little overwhelming.

I've always told my boys...

..that every Bama fan from every generation has been able to enjoy the experience of Alabama being the best in the nation. I’ve witnessed NC’s, my dad has, his dad did, and his before that. There is no reason why they (my kids) won’t either. Because we’re Alabama and winning is what we do.

by yellowhammer on Dec 5, 2009 7:37 PM CST reply actions

Even better

Is that every Barner fan from every generation has been able to witness that as well.

Nice job Guys

No meltdowns over here- we had a great season, but the Tide was simply the better team today. Yall beat us on offense, defense, special teams and coaching. Yall won the time of possession battle, turnover margin, fewer penalties and every other measure of comparison.

As always (I’m an SEC backer in Bowl season – even root for Tennessee!) I will be rooting for yall to win the Championship. Yall certainly deserve the SEC Championship this season and I think the National Championship as well.

No need to pile onto Tebow – he has faced more pressure this season than any of us will ever know. It must be hard to enter the season with anything less than perfection being failure. We will surely miss him next season and hope that Brantley can help lead us back to Atlanta in ’10. Hopefully we can bounce back in the Sugar, log a 13 win season and send Tebow, Spikes and company out as winners.

Best of luck in Pasadena.

if we didn’t have to endure the non-stop media onslaught about his greatness. and while this isn’t exactly his fault, he certainly doesn’t seem to shy away from it either. so, yeah, there’s some schadenfreude at play here in seeing him cry. but, in the end, any objective observer of the game will admit he’s a once-in-a-generation player we’ve been privileged to watch play.

I hate that we’re now almost certain to be huge favorites. I love the underdog role.

Despite the close game

Texas did not lose, and thus will not be jumped by either Cinci or TCU

I hate to say it but I hope not.

I like that we have more NCs than anyone else and not a single Heisman. Team sport etc.

If it were up to me, I'd blitz on offense too.

As much as that,

we also watched Tebow and McCoy lose it. Spiller’s got a shot, though.

Kinda makes me sad.

I like Dabo Sweeney. I was kind of rooting for Clemson in this one.

Congrats on the game

The Tide played inspired for 60 straight minutes. It was, though painful, a thing of beauty. If Saban and the other coaches can maintain the intensity your team showed tonight January 7th, its going to get very very ugly. The horns have yet to face a complete team, and you guys are the real deal. Have fun in LA!

I'm guessing...

…most of y’all are off for the night, and I’m about to head to bed, but I just returned from the game and had to stop by here first and give you all a big Roll Tide! God night, and God bless….

For those of you in Birmingham...

…here’s where to spend your drankin’ dollars in the upcoming days check this out:

I’ve been told The Plaza invented a new shot tonight called “Tebow Tears.” Seriously. I’ve heard about it from 3-4 people that don’t know each other.

Congratualtions Bama

You fought well and if I had a vote, Mark Ingram would get the Heisman. Tebo’s performance was lackluster.

Roll Tide! You’ll mop up Texas.

Now that I have sobered up from partying after the game, let’s head to Pasadena! Who’s with me? Let’s just play the BCSCG next weekend!
